This new season picks up after the fourth season of The Boys, in a world where Homelander essentially holds power over the United States. Students at Godolkin must navigate strict campus regulations, complete with ID badges and checkpoints. After being released from a rehabilitation center, Marie (Jaz Sinclair) and her friends return to school. Under the guidance of the new dean, Cipher (Hamish Linklater), the focus is on preparing the students for a looming Supes versus Humans conflict. While some students are eager to party and prepare for battle, Marie and her friends find themselves divided: some wish to escape, while others want to dismantle the system from within. Their plans face a twist with the discovery of a mysterious program from the school’s past, potentially connected to Marie herself.
Tragically, before production began in spring 2024, Chance Perdromo, who portrayed Andre, passed away in a motorcycle accident. The team behind Gen V decided not to recast Andre, instead adjusting the storyline to reflect his absence. Andre’s father, Polarity (Sean Patrick Thomas), will grapple with the grief and seek justice regarding his son’s untimely death.
Season two features an ensemble cast including Derek Luh, Lizzie Broadway, London Thor, and Asa Germann. Fans can look forward to the premiere on September 17, with three episodes released at once, followed by weekly episodes culminating on October 22.
