BO7 Season 2 Reloaded Patch Notes: 5 Maps, New Modes & Weapons

BO7 Season 2 Reloaded Patch Notes: 5 Maps, New Modes & Weapons

My squad dropped into a match that felt wrong — the map tags were shifting, and the scoreboard blinked like a heartbeat. I closed the Call of Duty blog and felt it: Season 2 Reloaded is a loaded magazine for the multiplayer loop. You should care, because the next few weeks will change where you land and how you fight.

On March 12, Black Ops 7 and Warzone get a mid-season push from Activision and Treyarch. Expect five maps, fresh modes, two weapons added to player arsenals free through events, and a beefed-up Endgame with new PvE threats and a Skill Track geared toward risk-and-reward play.

At my console I opened the patch notes an hour after deployment — what the Season 2 Reloaded update actually does

The CoD blog and dev posts from Treyarch and Raven Software outline a focused refresh rather than a total overhaul. Think rotation shifts, targeted mode edits, and new content that rewards repeated play through LTMs and weekly challenges.

I fired up a playlist and saw old favorites returning — five maps rejoin rotation

Multiplayer gets both new arenas and remakes from previous Black Ops entries. That mix aims to keep veterans comfortable while forcing fresh tactical choices for squads that prefer chaos.

  • Torque — new, compact map built for fast trades and close-quarters control.
  • Cliff Town — a Yemen remake from Black Ops 2, with sightlines altered for modern weapons and movement.
  • Mission: Peak — a new 20 vs. 20 map that expands vehicle and objective play at scale.
  • Grind — the Black Ops 2 classic returns with smaller chokepoints tuned to current TTK.
  • Firing Range — the Black Ops 1 staple comes back for measured, gunskill-heavy fights.

When does BO7 Season 2 Reloaded launch?

Season 2 Reloaded drops on March 12. Activision published the full rundown on the official Call of Duty blog, and Treyarch dev notes followed with mode and Endgame specifics.

What maps are added in Season 2 Reloaded?

The list above covers the five confirmed MP maps. If you play Warzone, expect the Black Ops Royale changes to sync with the mid-season cadence promoted by Raven Software.

How do I get the new weapons?

The Voyak KT-3 assault rifle and the Swordfish A1 marksman rifle join as free additions you can earn through event rewards and weekly challenges — no premium purchase required to add them to your loadouts.

I jumped into quick play to test the new modes — Gauntlet and Infected return

Gauntlet strings a handful of common modes into a single, momentum-driven playlist. You and your six-player squad will cycle through Domination, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint, Team Deathmatch, and a high-risk Roulette round that centers on control of an Akimbo Hand Cannon.

Also back: the fan-favorite Infected LTM, returning as a timed event that typically spikes player counts and social clips.

I tested the new guns in a custom lobby — two additions with event-driven access

The Voyak KT-3 (assault rifle) and Swordfish A1 (marksman rifle) are introduced as free weapons earned through events. Expect attachments added through weekly challenges and cosmetic items tied to limited-time modes.

From a meta perspective, these weapons are designed to slot into current weapon archetypes rather than redefine them — useful if you want a fresh kit without relearning core gunplay.

I ran an Endgame strike and felt the difficulty spike — Endgame expands with Glitch Fractures and Nightmare Skills

After a few Strike runs I noticed the map geometry and enemy composition change near certain hotspots. Glitch Fractures introduce “gh-intensity” zones that push past Tier IV difficulty, and they feed a new Skill Track called Nightmare Skills.

Endgame is a pressure cooker now: the new Skills reward risk by granting powerful effects when you clear the tougher Glitches.

  • Nova Strike: Melee Strikes can generate an electrical field that damages enemies.
    • First Upgrade: The struck enemy is also Shocked.
    • Final Upgrade: The electrical field persists briefly and Shocks enemies who pass through it (with a cooldown).
  • Phoenix Burst: At low health, trigger an explosion that damages enemies and fully restores your health (with a cooldown).
    • First Upgrade: After the explosion, gain full ammo and temporary infinite ammo from the magazine.
    • Final Upgrade: After the explosion, gain temporary immunity.
  • Hellwing: Wingsuiting over enemies drops an incendiary trail.
    • First Upgrade: Increases how long the incendiary trail remains on the ground.
    • Final Upgrade: Flashbangs normal and Special enemies within the incendiary area.
  • Chaos Rounds: Weapon attacks can trigger Photon, Incendiary, Frost, or Shock effects.
    • First Upgrade: Can also trigger Graviton, Mortar, Shrapnel, and Neuro-Disruption effects.
    • Final Upgrade: Enemies hit by Chaos Rounds have a chance to trigger a random Chaos Round on nearby enemies.
  • Frost Vortex: Bullets can create a Snowstorm that pulls in enemies.
    • First Upgrade: Applies Frost to normal enemies in the Snowstorm.
    • Final Upgrade: Also applies Frost to Special and Elite enemies in the Snowstorm.
