The arrival of fall heralds an exciting time for PlayStation enthusiasts. Sony has a history of unveiling thrilling game announcements each September, and this year is no exception. With Ghost of Yōtei set to release on October 2, many are anticipating a new PlayStation State of Play event soon.
Since 2019, Sony has consistently held prominent showcases to reveal upcoming titles for the PS5 and other platforms. With insider leaks suggesting a presentation during the week of September 22, we’re eager to share our wishlist for games we hope to see at this year’s State of Play.
September 2025 PS5 State of Play Wishlist
1. Marvel’s Wolverine
It’s about time Insomniac Games presents Wolverine. After two years of hard work since the notorious hack of the studio, we’re eagerly waiting for updates that remind us why they are one of the premier development teams.
2. SAROS
Housemarque’s latest title, revealed in February, looks incredibly promising. We’re excited to see more gameplay details that distinguish SAROS from Returnal, especially with its unique progress mechanics.
3. Fairgame$
Have you forgotten about Fairgame$? Many have. This PvPvE title has been mostly silent since its reveal over two years ago. It promises an exciting competitive heist experience, and fans are curious about its current status.
4. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet
Naughty Dog’s new sci-fi IP caught our attention at last year’s Game Awards, but updates have been scarce since. A new trailer during this State of Play would be the perfect opportunity to showcase the innovative gameplay they’ve been working on.
5. Marathon
With all eyes on Marathon, fans hope for a solid presentation to restore excitement for this extraction shooter. A new trailer addressing previous feedback would certainly help rekindle interest.
6. Santa Monica Studio’s Latest
After the success of God of War: Ragnarök, fans are eager to see what direction Santa Monica Studio is taking. Will they break new ground or continue Kratos’ tale? Speculation is high, and fans are hopeful for a reveal.
7. Grand Theft Auto 6
Though it may be ambitious to expect an appearance, rumors suggest GTA 6 is just over eight months away from release. A sneak peek at the upcoming State of Play could boost enthusiasm within the community.
