Excitement is in the air as gamers dive into the world of Hollow Knight: Silksong, launched just yesterday. This indie MetroidVania has swiftly captured the attention of players everywhere, validating the anticipation surrounding its release.
As a fan of the original Hollow Knight, which remains in my backlog, I can’t help but feel curious about the new spin-off. With the buzz surrounding Silksong, it’s clear that the developer, Team Cherry, has struck the right chord.

This weekend, as I fill in for our regular writer, Andrej Barovic, my gaming plans are slightly altered due to my PC being out of commission. While I wait for it to be repaired, it seems like a perfect moment to ask you, dear readers: what are you playing this weekend?
With limited capabilities, my gaming horizons will expand to consoles and my trusty Steam Deck. I have access to the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls closed beta on my PS5, which I’m excited to explore, hoping it brings back some nostalgic vibes reminiscent of Marvel vs. Capcom. Plus, I’ll be spending quality time with my dogs.
Meanwhile, fellow writer Kacee Fay will be lost in Tiny Bookshop, admitting a bit of an obsession for it. This game not only captivates its players but also features actual books that tempt Kacee to add more to an already overflowing reading list.
As for Mr. Barovic, he’s taking advantage of my absence to dive into games like World of Tanks, the Anno 117 demo, Rise of Nations, and Hell is Us. It appears that while I may miss gaming time, he’s making the most of it.
Editor Luci Kelemen is balancing editorial tasks with some gaming, mixing in sessions of Super Meat Boy and Heroes of Might and V along with a game of chess, something that seems to be a mainstay for them. Finally, assigning editor Adam Newell is gearing up to work on a new LEGO One Piece set, which promises to be a delightful experience.

Whether you’re indulging in Silksong, unwinding with another title, or taking a break to enjoy the fading summer, we’re eager to hear how you’ll spend your weekend. Please, share your plans in the comments below.
