Wizards of the Coast is ramping up its crossover efforts with new decks for Magic: The Gathering. Following the exciting collaborations with Final Fantasy and Spider-Man earlier this year, the studio is now diving back into Final Fantasy alongside a surprising tie-in with PlayStation.
This past Friday at MagicCon Atlanta, the company unveiled a fresh array of Final Fantasy cards and products, set to launch on December 5th. Retailers will carry new Scene Boxes, the Chocobo Bundle, and the Final Fantasy VII Commander Deck. The Scene Boxes are themed with “Children of Fate,” “Garland at the Chaos Shrine,” and “Camp Comrades” artwork, featuring three different Final Fantasy titles. Meanwhile, the Chocobo Bundle holds an impressive collection of ten Play Boosters, along with assorted card formats including track foil, foil borderless, and non-foil options.

The Scene Boxes include a display easel for showcasing the art, while the Chocobo Bundle features a themed click wheel to track your life value during games. Additionally, it holds a unique opportunity to acquire Chocobo-themed alternate art cards from across the Final Fantasy sets.
Included in the Final Fantasy VII Commander Deck is a special “Cloud, Midgard Mercenary” promo card. This card showcases the original Final Fantasy VII art of Cloud in Midgar and comes in a traditional foil format, along with a digital download code for the classic game—though mechanically, the card remains identical to its original version.
As we look forward to the new FF7 release, Magic: The Gathering is also preparing to explore the rich world of PlayStation with a unique Secret Lair collaboration. This partnership will encompass cards inspired by iconic franchises such as Horizon, God of War, and The Last of Us. Fans of Naughty Dog’s works will be excited to discover that the majority of cards focus on The Last of Us, with a couple dedicated to Uncharted. Notably, God of War has three themed cards, while both Horizon and Ghost of Tsushima contribute one each. The new releases will be available in both foil and non-foil variants.
