Black Ops 7 Update: Drone Pod Nerf, SMG Buffs & Endgame Mode Unlocked

Is Black Ops 7 Releasing Early? Unpacking the Latest Rumors

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has officially launched, and Treyarch is already teasing what players can expect from the first big update. This is an exciting time for gamers eager to see improvements and enhancements that respond to community feedback.

In a recent Dev Talk video, Treyarch’s Matt Scronce and Yale Miller outlined the upcoming changes that will roll out soon, beginning with the release of the Endgame mode for all players, no campaign completion necessary.

According to Scronce, SMGs are set for a “universal” buff in multiplayer. Meanwhile, Treyarch is keeping a close watch on marksman and sniper rifles as well as shotguns, feeling confident about the latter’s current performance. It’s clear that weapon balance is central to enhancing the gameplay experience.

One major change involves the aim assist for controller players, which many have felt needed adjustment. Treyarch is satisfied with the current setting but plans to “slightly increase” the strength of aim assist ahead of the first season launch on December 4.

Multiplayer spawn points are always a hot topic among players, and Scronce confirmed that adjustments are on the horizon for modes like Hardpoint, Free-for-All, and TDM. Additionally, the often frustrating Drone Pod Field Upgrade will see a nerf, much to the relief of fans.

Packs of targeted buffs are also in store for the Point Turret, Needle Drone, Molotov, and Cluster Grenade lethal equipment. This, combined with an improved minimap range, should greatly benefit tactical gameplay.

Shifting gears to Zombies, Treyarch acknowledged that the main boss in the Ashes of the Damned mode, Veytharion, is a bit too challenging. The upcoming update will address this by making him “slightly easier” and increasing healing options for the Ol’ Tessie vehicle along with reducing the speed of the boss’s missile attack.
