Just a month after the public firing, Setro, Type Soul’s lead developer, is back! This news greatly impacted the community, as he maintained popularity despite his wrongdoings. So how did this happen, and what does it mean for the development of Type Soul?
Setro was always active in the Type Soul community, making him popular among fans. While that didn’t save him from firing, it did impact his swift return. While we don’t know what happened behind closed doors, we know now that Setro is sorry. He also promised not to lie again and do everything he was accused of.
“I want to first start off by saying I approached the Type Soul team in order to work on the game again. I want to also apologize to not only the staff and the developers but the owners and my friends whom I lied to about someone being on my account when I said they weren’t. (Blackmarket allegations.) They did in fact have access to my account and I apologize for lying about it.“
Setro would like you to consider him a “person of integrity and leadership” and not a person of “mystery and lies.” For the fan base, all it takes is one good Type Soul update and fewer pay-to-win antics than many Roblox developers are known for.
Improvements are happening as we speak, as Type Soul is already closed for updates. And while fans are cheering (and spamming Discord chat with the same “My heart is bursting with joy” posts), there’s still much to unpack. If Setro was really into the black market and lying, would one apology letter suffice?
So how did all this happen? To refresh your memory, another developer, Entwari, previously made it official that Setro is stepping down. Unofficially, he was let go because he did not do enough as a lead developer and for using black market servers to sell items for real money. Those are serious allegations, but nothing that can be ironed out, right? Apparently so, as Setro has made a piece with other devs, determined to improve Type Soul.
