Deltarune Chapter 3 S-Rank Guide: Tips for Perfecting Your Play

Deltarune Chapter 3 S-Rank Guide: Tips for Perfecting Your Play

Unlocking secret bosses in Deltarune is one of the most thrilling experiences for players. Chapter 3 is no exception, especially since the hidden secrets revolve around ranks achieved during Tenna’s game show. If you want to dive deep into these mysteries, mastering the game show rounds is essential.

Some players might choose to breeze through the chapter without seeking out the secret boss. However, unlocking these secrets intricately ties to your performance during gameplay. Below is a detailed guide to achieving an S-rank in every Tenna game show round in Deltarune.

1. How to Achieve S-Rank in Deltarune

In Deltarune, you will participate in three game show rounds where S-ranks are attainable. Your rank stems from the points you gather, influenced by three main factors:

  • Your battle performance
  • Points gained outside of combat
  • Minigame score

Essentially, to earn an S-rank, you should minimize damage during battles, maximize points collected outside combat, and excel in the minigames at the end of each round.

2. Battle Ranking

Battle performance is the primary factor influencing your rank. Each round consists of three battles, evaluated based on how little damage you incur, how swiftly you defeat opponents, and your total TP. Mastering Deltarune’s combat mechanics is crucial. If you’re struggling to dodge enemy attacks, consider defending more often and utilizing food instead of relying solely on Ralsei’s healing abilities. Conversely, if you’re adept at dodging but neglecting your TP can reduce your final rank.

The good news is that an occasional A-rank during battles won’t doom your overall rank. Securing S-ranks in other areas can help balance out any lesser scores.

3. Points Gained Outside of Combat

Another method to elevate your end-of-round rank involves accruing points outside of combat. Initially, this entails answering quiz questions correctly and collecting coins scattered across the map, along with discovering a helpful croissant that allows you to pull weeds. Exploring the map will naturally lead you to these points.

To illustrate, I managed to get 1,750 points from solving quizzes and pulling weeds, resulting in a T-rank for round one. This helped offset my A-rank in battles and allowed me to achieve an S-rank overall. With thorough exploration, achieving S-rank or T-rank is quite feasible, especially with Susie’s assistance in pulling weeds.

4. Minigame Score

End-of-round minigames contribute significantly to your rank. Each round features a minigame lasting about two minutes. In the first one, you’ll gather falling objects while dodging obstacles. Scoring around 500 points is crucial for an S-rank.

This is perhaps the most difficult aspect, as there’s no practice available. Pay attention to Tenna’s instructions, take your time to prepare, and focus on balancing speed with agility. Each subsequent minigame will demand varied skills.

5. What If I End with an A-Rank?

So, what happens if you finish a round with an A-rank or lower? You won’t necessarily lose access to Deltarune’s Chapter 3 secrets. There’s still a way to achieve the coveted S-rank.

6. How to Get S-Rank After a Round Ends

If you finish a round with an A-rank or lower, you can purchase an S-rank from a character located south of the Green Room for 1,500 points (€1,425). To find this character, exit the Green Room through the exit between the two TVs, venture left, and continue down the hall until you spot a golden Tenna statue.

Once there, the character can provide you with an S-rank for the round—but only if you have enough points. If you fall short of 1,500, you’ll miss this opportunity.

7. What Does S-Rank Do in Deltarune?

Achieving S-rank is crucial for unlocking Deltarune Chapter 3’s secret boss. You can enter the S-starred door located in the top-right corner of the Green Room. Normally, a guard prevents entry, but showing an S-rank grants you access to explore the room’s hidden secrets.

You’ll encounter quirky conversations and, more importantly, access an alternative single-player minigame where Kris can collect keys crucial for revealing Chapter 3’s secret boss.

As of now, details on how to achieve Deltarune Chapter 3’s secret ending are limited, but more insights will be updated as information becomes available.
