Summer Games Fest never fails to deliver an exhilarating lineup. It’s a stage where blockbuster titles meet charming indie creations, along with surprise releases that keep gamers buzzing with excitement. There’s truly no better time to get hyped for some amazing new games.
Let’s dive deeper into what caught my eye this year. First up is Sonic CrossWorlds. This game throws together an unexpected combination of Hatsune Miku and Minecraft, and somehow, it works brilliantly. I’m genuinely looking forward to playing this one, especially before I revisit the latest Sonic movie series.
Next on my must-try list is Lego Voyagers. Adorable games have my heart, and the moment my best friend shared this trailer, I was instantly drawn in. It’s cute, goofy, and appears to be the perfect escape for those stressful days when I just need to unwind. Among all the SGF announcements, this one tops my personal favorites.
Then there’s the intriguing Lies of P: Overture, which launched unexpectedly the night of SGF. Though I’m not quite skilled at Soulslike games to ensure a win, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching my friends dive into this one. Their excitement at the shadow drop has made for some fantastic gaming weekends.
Even though I don’t personally play Resident Evil, the enthusiasm from my friends over RE Requiem made it impossible not to mention. The visuals are stunning, and as a horror genre enthusiast, I know I would have jumped on this title without hesitation. Perhaps one day, I’ll muster the courage to experience it.
