My journey with Occult Sims began with the expansion pack Get to Work. Prior to that, the world of the Occult was unexplored territory for me; in fact, I didn’t discover the existence of Plant Sims until much later. While I’m familiar with some Occult Sims like vampires and spellcasters, my experience with Skeleton Sims from Jungle Adventures is comparatively shallow. I’ve also dabbled with Servos, though they often feel more like background characters during my gameplay.
Currently, my all-time favorite remains the Werewolves. There’s something thrilling about transforming into one through bites, but I often start as a Werewolf in Create-A-Sim (CAS) before heading to Moonwood Mill. I find a unique thrill in the pack mechanics and customizing a wolf character. If I embark on an Occult-themed playthrough, Werewolves are typically my go-to for both their abilities and the challenges they present.
However, this could all change with the release of Enchanted by Nature. Initial trailers and gameplay impressions from popular content creators have revealed that fairies will share a gameplay style similar to werewolves but with even more customization options—more than any other Occult type currently available.
At this rate, the fairies might just become my new favorite. I genuinely enjoy character customization and have a penchant for mystical and fantasy environments in gaming. The ultimate deciding factor will be how the gameplay unfolds and whether community challenges can spark my creativity. Time will reveal how my opinions shift.
