Get ready, gamers! The highly anticipated Call of Duty Zombies mode is making its return later this year in Black Ops 7. This version brings a fresh twist, drawing inspiration from the iconic TranZit map from the Black Ops franchise.
During a recent media presentation, I had the opportunity to witness some gameplay of the new map, and let me tell you, it’s massive. Treyarch has labeled it as the “biggest round-based map” in the series’ history.
The storyline of this new map picks up right after the Black Ops 6 Reckoning quest released earlier this month. It features both the BO6 zombies crew and a “new iteration” of the original squad that fans have loved for years.
Much like TranZit, the new map is divided into six expansive playable areas connected by traversal zones requiring a vehicle. However, instead of a bus, players will have access to a Wonder Vehicle—a crafted ride that allows players to navigate these expansive regions.
This Wonder Vehicle resembles a pickup truck, complete with a mounted electric cannon, zombie monster heads adorning its hood, and spiked bumpers designed for mowing down hordes of the undead as players traverse several perilous roads.
Treyarch has described the map itself as a “Bermuda Triangle” of diverse locations, with each area representing a unique time period and backstory. So far, only one location named Farm has been revealed.
Each region on the map will eventually become a standalone Survival map in BO7, starting with Farm. These smaller maps are fully equipped with all the essentials—perks, Pack-a-Punch, and more—allowing players to experience a Liberty Falls-like atmosphere without needing to progress through the main campaign.
Additionally, BO7 Zombies will reintroduce the twin-stick shooter arcade mode, Dead Ops Arcade. Expect even more maps and experiences as seasonal content unfolds leading to the game’s release this fall.
