The open world fishing simulator game, Fisch has an impressive RNG feature that occasionally gifts you unique variants of the regular fishes. This can be achieved passively using better fishing rods, or manually by taking them to the Appraiser NPC. This feature is called Mutations and can bump up the prices of the fish you catch. Want to know what exact benefits all mutations provide? Keep reading as we detail all Fisch mutations, their benefits and how to get them all right here.
All Available Mutations in Fisch
In Fisch, Mutations depend on the luck factor and would be visible on the fish you are reeling. Fishes with a few mutations can be caught using a certain rod, while others can only be found during certain server events. These can increase or decrease your fish’s sale value according to its corresponding multiplier. With that said, here is a list of all Fisch mutations in the game.

All Attributes in Fisch
Although you cannot have multiple mutations on a single fish, you can definitely have a few attributes stacked upon a particular mutation. Attributes in Fisch are of four types, which are as follows:
Attribute Name | Value Bonus | How to Get |
---|---|---|
Shiny | 1.85x | 1% chance in regular days and increases during Shiny Surge event. Better found using Blessed enchantment and the Destiny Rod |
Sparkling | 1.85x | 1% chance in regular days and increases during Night of the Luminous event. Better found using Blessed enchantment and the Destiny Rod |
Big | 1-1.99x | Can be applied to fish during appraisal. Better found using Sea Overlord, Sea King, Abyssal Enchantments, and King’s Rod, Poseidon’s Rod, or Season’s Rod |
Giant | 2-2.5x | Can be applied to fish during appraisal. Better found using Sea Overlord, Sea King, Abyssal Enchantments, and King’s Rod, Poseidon’s Rod, or Season’s Rod |
The best thing about the attributes is that you can get them while appraising and won’t lose them, except for the big and giant fishes. The latter two can be removed if the fish’s weight is depressed enough.

Other Ways to Get Mutations in Fisch
Besides the methods, there are a few more ways you can get mutations. These are:
1. Appraiser and Chiseler NPCs
Now you know that you can easily get the above mutations due to the passive ability of a few rods. However, there’s another way to get them manually through two NPCs. You’ll find an Appraiser NPC beside the Merchant at the Moosewood island.
If you bring your fish or any item and interact with the NPC asking them to appraise its value, they will do so for just 450 cash (or 338 with the Appraiser’s Luck game pass).

Appraising a fish or any item can increase or decrease its weight or apply a random mutation to it. The rate of having a mutation applied to the fish is very low on a normal day. So, waiting for the Mutation Surge event is recommended since it’ll increase the rate of mutated fish by 15%.
Apart from the Appraiser, you’ll find another such an NPC at the Ancient Isles, known as the Chiseler. This fellow will Chip all your Amber fishes and give them either a Purified or a Revitalized mutation. The Chiseler will ask for just 100 cash to do this job and is further reduced to just 75 cash if you have the Appraiser’s Luck game pass.
2. Weather Based Events
Now that you know that the Mutation Surge event increases the chance of getting mutated fishes by 15%, it’s worth noting that a few other events also enhance your odds at getting mutated fishes.
These include the Shiny Surge event, that can increase your chances of catching Shiny fish by 3%. Meanwhile, the Night of the Luminous can increase your chances of getting sparkling fish by 10%. Another event called the Moonlight Mirage can increase the chances of getting Lunar mutations.
3. Treasure Chests and Baits
Furthermore, you can look out for treasure chests found worldwide to find fish with the Sunken mutation. Finally, various baits, including Aurora Baits and Chocolate fish, allow you to obtain fish with the respective mutations.
Since these baits are event specific and are currently unobtainable from crates, you might think of using a Scrapper enchantment on your rod to reduce the bait consumption to 60%. Finally, you can also consider redeeming the latest Fisch codes to get some baits for free.
And now you know about all Fisch mutations and how to get them. Which one do you feel is the easiest to get in the game and also provides the best value? Let us know in the comments below!
The Tentacle Surge mutation (10x value) is currently the best one in Fisch. However, the chances to get it are 5% and only using the Kraken Rod. So, you might consider going for the Ethereal Prism Rod that gives the Prismize mutation. Although the value multiplier is 8x, the chances of getting this are 50% for all fishes you catch.
You can get the Mutation surge by spamming Sundial Totems, and you will have a chance of rolling the Mutation Surge event in your server.
The Abyssal mutation increases the sale value of your fish by 3.5 times. However, you can get fish with this mutation only in the Depths region or by using a rod with the Abyssal Enchantment.
