As of now, Nintendo has confirmed that you will be able to play three types of games on the Nintendo Switch 2. These types are broadly divided into three categories: Nintendo Switch 2 games, Compatible Nintendo Switch games, and Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games. So that confirms another question about whether Nintendo Switch 2 will be backwards compatible.
