The hum of the AIC unit was deafening, a constant reminder of the upgrades needed. My fingers hovered over the schematics, each promising power, each demanding Ferrium Ore. The gauge was near zero, another expedition overdue—the clock was ticking.
Ferrium Ore. By the time you realize you need it in Arknights Endfield, you’re already behind. Here’s what I wish I’d known sooner about securing this resource for your Factory. If you’re new to the game, don’t worry—stash this information for later. The need for Ferrium Ore snowballs as your factory grows.
The Ferrium Mirage: Acquiring Ore in Arknights Endfield
Ever chased a mirage across a desert? That’s what searching for Ferrium Ore can feel like. It’s not as common as Originium Ore. Ferrium is a higher-tier resource, a gateway to Blue Rarity gear and other important constructs. Its importance creeps up on you.
You’ll likely need Ferrium Ore before you stumble upon it. The answer is tied to the Main Story. Push forward until you reach the Originium Science Park region. This area is where you’ll find your first Ferrium Ore nodes, ready for harvesting.

Want to amass Ferrium Ore? Tapping nodes isn’t enough. You’ll need to deploy an Electric Mining Drill Rig Mk II on a Ferrium Mining location. Yes, a standard Electric Mining Drill won’t cut it for Ferrium Ore.

Also, your drill will require power. An active Power Grid in the Originium Science Park is a must, meaning a sub-AIC base is needed. The road to setting up a sub-AIC base? It all comes back to following the Main Story. Progress through the Originium Science Park’s narrative, and you’ll be prompted to establish an outpost—and with it, a functional Power Grid.
Crafting the Future: Obtaining an Electric Mining Drill Rig MK II
Think of the Electric Mining Drill Rig MK II as the key to unlocking true Ferrium abundance. You can craft them at any AIC Unit (Main or Sub). To get the blueprint, research and Mining III within the Basic AIC Plan menu. The schematic will then appear under the Construction option at any AIC Unit.

You’ll need these materials to craft an Electric Mining Drill RIG MK II:
- 1x Portable Originium Rig
- 10x Ferrium Parts
What is the best way to increase resource gathering in Arknights Endfield?
The most effective method involves establishing automated mining operations. Focus on acquiring the Electric Mining Drill Rig MK II and strategically placing them on rich Ferrium nodes. Invest in your Power Grid to keep those drills running efficiently.
Ferrium Ore Locations
Even in Originium Science Park, Ferrium Ore can be elusive. Here’s where to pinpoint the nodes within the region.
West of Transport Nexus

These nodes are likely the first you’ll encounter upon entering the region via Route 5. Expect to do some Relay building to reach and mine these nodes effectively.
Northwest of Infra-Station

This node sits directly across from your sub-AIC base, split by a large valley. Zipline technology—Pylons or Towers—will make future trips here quick and easy.
Northeast of Cliffside Trail

This last node is initially blocked by a Blight wall. Continue through the Main Story to gain access and expand your Ferrium Ore mining capabilities even further.
Lock down one or two of these nodes, and you’ll have enough Ferrium Ore to keep your projects running smoothly.
How do you get more materials in Arknights Endfield?
Diversify your resource gathering operations. Beyond Ferrium, invest in mining Originium and other basic resources. Automate your production lines by building multiple AIC units. Don’t neglect Dispatch missions, which can yield substantial material rewards. Prioritize research that enhances gathering efficiency, such as better mining drills or faster transport methods.
What is Ferrium Ore used for?
Ferrium Ore is incredibly versatile in Arknights Endfield. Here’s a breakdown of its uses:
- Blue Rarity Gear – A huge jump in power from the Green Rarity gear you’re used to. Convert Ferrium Ore into Ferrium Components—worth the effort.
- Outposts – Some outposts require mass production of Ferrium materials.
- Ferrium – Refine Ferrium Ore into its base element using a Refining Unit. This is required for the items below.
- Ferrium Powder – Create this ingredient for Condensed versions by processing Ferrium in a Grinding Unit.
- Ferrium Components – Combine Ferrium with Origocrust in a Gearing Unit to produce these gear-crafting materials.
- Ferrium Parts – Craft advanced structures and items by processing Ferrium in a Fitting Unit.
- Ferrium Bottle – Used in the creation of various consumable items; crafted by inputting Ferrium into a Moulding Unit.
With the right strategy, Ferrium Ore will become the bedrock of your industrial might. Will you focus on rapid expansion or quality production?
