Marathon Data Reconstruction 2: Harvest Logs & Repo Locations

Marathon Data Reconstruction 2: Harvest Logs & Repo Locations

The harvest terminal blinked red the first time I missed it. I watched a NuCaloric marker wink past on my mini-map and felt the contract slip away. You’ll want these rewards more than you think.

I’ve cleared this route twice and tested both approaches. I’ll show you where the harvest logs live, which entrance saves your life, and how to sweep the catwalk without wasting time.

The NuCaloric emblem sits easy to spot on the map — here’s how the contract breaks down and why it matters

The Data Reconstruction 2 contract is a priority job for the NuCaloric faction in Marathon. Complete it to collect valuable rewards and raise your NuCaloric standing. The task splits into two straightforward objectives:

  • Download harvest logs from Algae Ponds
  • Hack three Data Repositories in AI Uplink

Where are the Algae Ponds located?

The Algae Ponds is a named location and wears a bright cyan coating — you’ll spot it from across the map. Once you step inside, take the stairs up to the second floor.

Head to the room with the massive glass display. The terminal sits against the wall there — interact with it to download the harvest logs and clear the first objective. If enemies spawn, clear or avoid them quickly; the terminal interaction is short and unskippable.

How do I hack the three Data Repositories in AI Uplink?

The AI Uplink contains three small Data Repositories attached along the catwalk. I prefer the eastern approach because the western side hosts multiple UESC patrols that slow you down and force unwanted fights.

Run the catwalk and tap each small terminal unit to begin the hack. They’re low-profile and sit along the railing — you won’t miss them once you’re on the path. Clear line-of-sight and short bursts of suppression will keep patrols from interrupting the interaction.

If you want a safer route, use cover on the eastern approach, sprint between terminals, and handle enemies only when necessary. Finish all three hacks and the second task — and with it, the Data Reconstruction 2 contract.

I’ve tested both routes on the map and the eastern entry saves time and deaths; Bungie’s AI spawns favor wide approaches, not choke points. You’ll get the gear and NuCaloric rep faster if you move like you know the layout.

Want to test a speed run using only the eastern entrance and report your time or variations on enemy placement — is the catwalk really the shortest path or just the quietest?
