Monster Hunter Stories 3 Invasive Monsters Guide: Locations & Repel

Monster Hunter Stories 3 Weapons Guide: All Types & How They Work

I still remember the instant the Yian Garuga crushed the last nest and I could feel the map go quiet — you don’t forget that hollow sting. I stood there, boots muddy, thinking about every egg lost to these invaders and how easy it would be to stop the next raid. If you want those endangered eggs, you need a plan that’s sharper than panic.

I’ve chased every Invasive Monstie across Azuria, Canalta Timberland, and Tarkuan so you don’t waste time. I’ll tell you where they hide, the one move or tool that shuts them down, and exactly which egg you’ll get when you repel them. Read this like a field guide and you’ll turn frantic searches into predictable wins — and Capcom’s encounters will feel rehearsed instead of random.

On my first night scouting, entire nests were gone — How to repel all Invasive Monsties in Monster Hunter Stories 3

Observation: empty nests, scattered feathers, a single claw mark on the trail. That’s how these fights usually start. You’ll meet the first one during the story, but the rest are optional territorial fights that reward rare Endangered Eggs when repelled.

Think of the invasion as a smoldering bruise on the map; treat it directly and it fades. I’ll walk you area by area with a single, repeatable tactic for each monster so you can clear them like a checklist.

Where are the invasive monsties located in Monster Hunter Stories 3?

They cluster in three regions: Azuria (three spawns), Canalta Timberland (two), and Tarkuan (four). The images below mark the exact hotspots I used — screenshots courtesy of Gmtreks, remixed by Moyens I/O.

When I checked Azuria at dusk, the air smelled like rain — Azuria invasive picks and how to beat them

Observation: dusk patrols reveal the first wave most often. Azuria is where you learn the mechanic, then repeat it with tighter timing.

Invasive Monstie 1 – Yian Garuga

You meet the Yian Garuga during Act 1, Chapter 6 as part of the story. It’s unavoidable, but it’s forgiving if you know the rhythm: attack the legs repeatedly to break them and strip its mobility. After the fight you’ll receive a Rathian egg that can be upgraded into a rarer variant.

Invasive Monstie 2 – Seregios

This one perches on a northern cliff and needs a flying monstie to reach at night. The trick: bring a Hammer with Perfect Crush. Watch the color of its roar and counter in a Head-to-Head:

  • If the roar is red, use Perfect Crush with Speed.
  • If the roar is blue, use Perfect Crush with Technical.
  • If the roar is green, use Perfect Crush with Power.

Repel the Seregios and you get an Astalos egg.

Invasive Monstie 3 – Plesioth

Plesioth sits near a cave north of Mirror Lake Catavan Stand. Use a swimmer monstie to reach the channeled spot. When it enrages, target the head with Fire-element attacks. That headshot window is brief but decisive; take it and you’ll collect a Lagiacrus egg.

On the trail in Canalta you’ll find claw marks on tree trunks — Canalta Timberland invasions and counterplays

Observation: broken honey pots and dragged shells usually point to which fight is coming. Canalta’s monsters test your defensive timing.

Invasive Monstie 4 – Arzuros

Arzuros appears during the main story and can’t be skipped. Its Honey Supply lets it summon adds; target the Honey Supply first to stop reinforcements. Using a Speed-type monstie counters its strengths and keeps the pressure on. Repel it to claim the Canyne egg.

Invasive Monstie 5 – Shogun Ceanataur

Hidden behind a waterfall in the marked spot, Shogun Ceanataur hits with devastating Killer Claws. Stack Defense Up on your team, use Mega Armorskin if you have it, and break the claws quickly — the claws are brittle and will snap if you keep hitting them. Finish the fight and you’ll get a Mizutsune egg.

Invasive Monstie 6 – Nerscylla

Nerscylla lurks on Canalta’s eastern edge. Bring a Gunlance with Wyvern’s Fire and save the skill for when it fades invisible and dives in — time the Wyvern’s Fire to land as it commits to an attack. Pull it off and you’ll claim a Nargacuga egg.

I found fresh tracks along the ridge at dawn — Tarkuan invasives and single-move counters

Observation: Tarkuan’s fights reward timing and elemental counters more than brute force. Aim for the tell, strike the tell, and the egg is yours.

Invasive Monstie 7 – Diablos

From Lookout Point: Rococo Rocks Catavan Stand, drop to the southeast floor and follow the ravine, climb where the path ends to meet Diablos. Use a Hammer with Spinning Meteor. When it burrows and spawns three holes, pick a hole and Meteor the rising dust. Time it wrong and Diablos will erupt elsewhere — time it right and you’ll drive it off for a Tigrex egg.

Invasive Monstie 8 – Odogaron

Glide south from Rococo Rocks, catch the updraft and cross northwest into the opening. Bring a monstie with Mud moves; spam Mud Torrent-style attacks to suppress its fire and chip the claws. Break the claws and you’ll get a Zinogre egg.

Invasive Monstie 9 – Khezu

From the map center, glide northeast over the rocks to the entrance. Wait for the Khezu to show “Learning Complete.” Land a Double Kinship attack right then — it usually repels it, and you’ll receive a Barioth egg.

How do I repel invasive monsties quickly?

Keep fights focused on a single objective: break a limb, destroy a supply, or time one Kinship. Tools like Hammer with Spinning Meteor, Gunlance with Wyvern’s Fire, and Perfect Crush skills are your shortcuts. If you want the quickest farm route, pair those skills with Speed-type monsties and one damage buffer to soak mistakes.

What rewards do invasive monsties give?

Repelling an Invasive Monstie grants a specific Endangered Egg: Rathian from Yian Garuga, Astalos from Seregios, Lagiacrus from Plesioth, Canyne from Arzuros, Mizutsune from Shogun Ceanataur, Nargacuga from Nerscylla, Tigrex from Diablos, Zinogre from Odogaron, and Barioth from Khezu. Those eggs let you raise and evolve rare monsties — the kind of advantage that turns repeated fights into predictable upgrades.

I’ve tested these routes on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam; if you’re buying the game new it runs around $59.99 (€55) on current storefronts — Capcom still supports this title with steady patches. Use resources like Gmtreks for maps and Moyens I/O for community tips when you want a second opinion.

One last thing: treat your Hammer or Gunlance like a lighthouse in a storm—pick one, master its timing, and most invasions stop being surprises. Ready to stop losing eggs to the next raid?
