Destiny 2 is evolving with exciting new features, including the introduction of Chronologs, a fresh currency that allows players to unlock items from past season passes. This new system not only enhances gameplay but also gives players a chance to reclaim unique cosmetics that they may have missed.
With the recent Ash & Iron update, Chronologs have been integrated into the game, featuring a dedicated kiosk for acquiring cosmetics from previous seasons. You can purchase items from nearly every old season, although accessing these will require a Silver buy-in.
What Are Chronologs in Destiny 2?
Chronologs serve as the new currency in Destiny 2 introduced with the Ash & Iron update. You can use these to obtain items from past season passes or exchange them for various materials, such as Deepsight Harmonizers and Ascendant Shards (limited to five per season). They’re easily tracked in your regular inventory, making it simple to keep an eye on your balance.
To utilize your Chronologs, navigate to the Monument to Seasons Past located in the Tower, conveniently near the Exotic Archive. This interface displays all the seasons from Shadowkeep onward, excluding the most recent one. For example, following the Ash & Iron update, all seasons up to Heresy are accessible, while the first half of Reclamation (featuring The Edge of Fate) will require waiting until the next season release.
Chronolog Prices for Items
Items available for purchase with Chronologs usually maintain a consistent price range, although adjustments can occur at Bungie’s discretion.
Item Type | Price (Chronologs) |
---|---|
Exotic ornament | 250 |
Emote | 250 |
Finisher | 250 |
Universal Ornament | 200 per piece; may vary by class |
Ship | 150 |
Sparrow | 150 |
Ghost | 150 |
Shader | 50 |
How to Acquire More Chronologs in Destiny 2
To boost your Chronolog count, engage with the current season rewards pass. If you purchase the pass, you’ll earn 3,000 Chronologs, while free-to-play players will gain about half this amount.
Purchasing each previous season will earn you an additional 500 Chronologs. Although this may not be the most efficient method, it’s wise to consider if you plan on collecting old cosmetics.
If you’ve bought items during Eververse’s Flashback Sales, you will automatically gain access to that season pass along with the accompanying 500 Chronologs.
Exchanging Chronologs in Destiny 2
The Monument to Seasons Past features an Exchange tab for buying multiple items using Chronologs. Below are the exchange rates.
Item Type | Price (Chronologs) |
---|---|
Synthweave Template | 500 (limited to three) |
Deepsight Harmonizer | 300 (limited to five) |
Ascendant Shard | 300 (limited to five) |
Exotic Cipher | 300 (limited to three) |
Ascendant Alloy | 200 |
Exotic Engram | 200 (not usually recommended) |
Eververse Engram | 200 |
Enhancement Prism | 100 (not typically worth it) |
Strange Coin x7 | 100 (rarely worth it) |
Be cautious when spending 100 Chronologs for seven Strange Coins, as they can easily be obtained elsewhere in the game. This deal is not favorable given the abundance of Strange Coins compared to Chronologs. The same applies to Exotic Engrams and Enhancement Prisms. Eververse Engrams can be hit or miss based on personal preference, so you’ll want to weigh the risks before purchasing.
