Complete Guide to All Wolfsbane Catalysts in Destiny 2

Complete Guide to All Wolfsbane Catalysts in Destiny 2

Wolfsbane, the eagerly awaited battle axe in Destiny 2, has made its debut as a reward for completing the Heliostat Exotic mission. This formidable weapon features four distinctive catalysts that enhance its core traits, obtainable through gameplay within the mission.

While Bungie phased out crafting after Echoes, some Exotics, including Wolfsbane, remain exceptions. Three of its catalysts introduce existing perks, while one focuses on enhancing its unique capabilities. As is customary, these catalysts are tucked behind small secrets within the Heliostat mission. Here’s how you can uncover them.

Using Wolfsbane involves a gameplay loop of striking enemies with light attacks to charge heavy attacks and build Nano-Assault, supercharging the weapon. Persistent light attacks form a critical aspect of its design, and three catalysts amplify that interplay:

  • Attrition Orbs Refit: Inflicting sustained damage generates an orb of power.
  • Relentless Strikes Refit: Achieving three light attacks in quick succession rewards you with heavy ammo.
  • Burning Ambition Refit: Hitting targets applies Scorch to them.
  • Subroutine: ~Recursion: Quicksilver nanites increase health based on your Nano-Assault stacks and generate nearby nanites when taking damage while active.

All of these catalysts require uncovering specific secrets in Heliostat, which we’ll detail below.

Retrieving the Wolfsbane catalysts isn’t overly complex. Essentially, you need to collect a data pad, install it in a terminal nearby, and complete the mission (thanks to 360GameTV). Installing the device will update the terminal screen, indicating your eligibility for the catalyst.

There’s no need to complete everything in one go, so don’t fret over error codes or returning to orbit. You can pick up the gadget during one run, interact with the terminal in another, and finish the mission in a third run while still earning the catalyst credit.

The initial data pad is located early in the mission. After defeating the first wave of enemies, you will encounter a radioactive reactor. Summon the shielding Psion and venture past the reactor, then search for the data pad across from the second device, hidden behind crates. Interact with the terminal just beyond the hallway where the shielding Psion spawns next.

Are the Wolfsbane Catalysts Time-Gated?

Yes, the Wolfsbane catalysts are indeed time-gated. During the week of October 7, when the weapon launched, only the Attrition Orbs Refit was available, indicated by the Enclave. As per Bungie’s pattern, expect a new catalyst to unlock each week, following the order mentioned.

Wolfsbane offers a unique gameplay experience, and acquiring its catalysts not only enhances your abilities but adds depth to your game.
