As October rolls in, it’s time for Phasmophobia to up the ante for its annual Halloween celebration. The Crimson Eye event is back, blending last year’s thrills with new twists that promise to keep players on their toes.
This event is designed with challenging mechanics, requiring teamwork and strategy. To help you make the most of your ghost-hunting experience, we’ve compiled a comprehensive guide to the challenges and rewards available during the Crimson Eye Halloween event.
Crimson Eye Halloween Event Guide
The Crimson Eye event is a community-driven experience where the entire Phasmophobia playerbase works together to achieve shared goals. While there is a personal objectives section to track individual contributions, the primary focus is on collaborating to tackle the main objectives.
Main Objectives of the Crimson Eye Event
To make significant progress in the Crimson Eye event, you will need to complete three crucial objectives:
- Identify ghosts accurately.
- Complete optional objectives.
- Interact with Totems.
1. Identify Ghosts Accurately
The first task is straightforward but essential—correctly identifying the ghosts. This core objective is central to every Phasmophobia contract, so you likely have some familiarity with the process.
If you find ghost identification challenging, focus on collecting three types of evidence to confirm your findings. While behavioral cues can guide you, concrete evidence is your best bet for accuracy. Each ghost type has three designated forms of evidence you can gather.

2. Complete Optional Objectives
The second primary goal is to finish the optional objectives. Each contract presents you with three side tasks that, while not mandatory, provide extra cash and experience points. In the context of the Crimson Eye event, completing these tasks also contributes to your event progress.
You can find your optional objectives on the board located between the truck cameras and the sanity monitor, pinned near the bottom of the display. Some tasks are simple, such as cleansing with Incense, while others may be more challenging. Completing these tasks whenever possible will boost your contribution to the event.
3. Interact with Totems
Your final challenge involves interacting with Totems, a unique and special task for this event. Totems appear as floating red Blood Moons above black pedestals, scattered throughout the daily event maps.
When you discover a Totem, approach it and use the “Interact” button, which varies depending on your platform. If you’re unsure about the control, check the Options in your Journal. Each interaction grants event points and, typically, you’ll find three to six Totems on each map, so thorough exploration is key.
