Unlocking every ending in Escape the Backrooms is no small feat. As your journey through Level The End unfolds, remember to stock up on Almond Water and prepare for countless chases. It’s a thrilling ride, but brace yourself—many of these endings are far from cheerful.
Following the release of update 1.0 on October 23, 2025, Escape the Backrooms introduced fresh lore and new monsters while revisiting familiar elements. This culmination of updates enriches the game’s narrative and provides players with new endings to explore.
1. Escape the Backrooms: Endings Guide
There are five unique endings awaiting discovery in Escape the Backrooms. Four of these endings are newly crafted, either nestled in familiar levels from early access or part of content beyond Level 3999.
2. WRONG DOOR Ending

This default ending is likely familiar to many, as it was the only one available during early access. You will reach this conclusion by progressing through all the Backrooms’ levels in Story Mode, culminating in Level 55.1.
You won’t need a specific order to obtain the alternate endings because the game conveniently transitions you to a Bunker. This area provides direct access to the Hub, enabling you to travel to different levels in search of alternate conclusions.
The Wrong Door ending sees your extensive efforts go to waste as you tumble toward the ground. While it feels like an escape, the harsh reality is that the cost is immense. You witness a town growing closer as you descend back into reality.
3. EMPTY CITY Ending

The Empty City ending can be found in the newly introduced Grassrooms level. You can access this secret area by unlocking the M.E.G. door in the Bunker after completing the game once. After mastering Overgrowth, proceed to Grassrooms. Complete this level to reach an elevator that transports you to the 11th floor, revealing an empty city still within the confines of the Backrooms. The liminal space expands in Level 11.
4. THE SUBURBS Ending

To discover the Suburbs ending, return to the Hub and access Level 1 (Habitable Zone). Ascend stairs to find the M.E.G. door, using your ID card for entry. This takes you directly to Level 92233, where you will need to jump from floor 94 to activate this unique conclusion.
You awaken in a hospital bed, gazing outside in hopes of returning to reality, but the view reveals Level 94’s endless hills and solitary yellow houses. As dusk falls, dread sets in—you know you’ll need to hide from lurking monsters at night.
5. THE PINK HOUSE Ending

To unlock the Pink House ending, return to the Hub and venture into Level 6 (Lights Out). Use the Lidar machine to navigate, but avoid progressing to the next section. Instead, utilize your ID on the M.E.G. door to unlock another dark labyrinth, again employing the Lidar. Locate the Pink House and gather 12 teddy bear toys scattered throughout this randomly generated maze.
Your story ends with you becoming yet another resident of the Pink House, unable to escape the watchful eyes of the level’s entity.
6. FINAL ESCAPE Ending

To unlock the Final Escape ending, you must first collect all four other endings. After regaining consciousness for the fourth time near the Bunker elevator, press the Level 3999 button inside. This will lead you to a secret arcade area where you can interact with a mysterious game named after this level, activating the final ending featuring insights from the game’s developer.
This marks the coveted best ending, as it signifies a true escape from the Backrooms, implying that your seemingly endless adventures were merely a game.
