Titans are typically known as the defenders in Destiny 2, but don’t underestimate their offensive capabilities. With the launch of the Renegades expansion, Titans have been thriving, making it the perfect time to explore some powerful Titan builds.
Having been a dedicated player, I can attest to the effectiveness of these powerful builds that leverage the Titan’s melee prowess. Below, I’ve detailed some of the top Titan builds that are currently dominating the meta.
1. Hammer Titan with Synthoceps or Wormgod (Solar)

The Hammer Titan has seen significant improvements thanks to Solar 3.0, especially after the stat rework in The Edge of Fate. This “bonk build” focuses on maximizing your melee buffs using Synthoceps or Wormgod’s Caress.
Utilizing Roaring Flames and Sol Invictus, this build ensures you have ample sustenance, ability regeneration, and damage. Hit enemies with your throwing hammer, retrieve it, and keep delivering punishing blows. In tough situations, throwing in a Healing Grenade can give you the edge, although offensive grenades are also effective.
If you’re looking for something different, try Melas Panoplia for its special hammer pull. However, based on our testing, it doesn’t quite measure up to the other two. Heart of Inmost Light is also viable, but other melee-focused exotics generally outperform it.
2. Consecration + Frenzied Blade (Prismatic)

On its own, Consecration packs a considerable punch, but when paired with a Prismatic setup, it becomes even more formidable. With three charges of Frenzied Blade at your disposal, you can obliterate foes effectively.
Employing Stoicism alongside the Inmost Light/Synthoceps combo can be incredibly potent, although other exotics, including Synthoceps and Wormgod’s, also excel.
This build follows the Aspects and Fragments used by Esoterickk in his outstanding solo run of Kell’s Fall on Ultimate.
3. Wishful Ignorance + Flechette Storm (Strand)

Following a brief period of being overpowered due to a bug, the Wishful Ignorance Exotic remains tough, combined effectively with Flechette and Banner of War.
Utilizing Grapple Grenades for traversal and melee kills (powered or otherwise) can rapidly stack damage and healing through Banner of War. Pair this with Thread of Isolation to boost your survivability and you have a solid setup.
4. Howl of the Storm + Icefall Mantle (Stasis)

A recent buff has refreshed the Howl of the Storm, making Stasis Titans more competitive. This gem now has two melee charges and generates Stasis Shards with ease, thanks to the removal of the cooldown on Tectonic Harvest.
Using Howl of the Storm allows you to freeze or shatter enemies effectively, while collecting Stasis Shards refills your melee ability and builds Frost Armor. Although Glacial Quake has a slightly increased energy cost, you can still utilize Howl of the Storm during it.
For your Exotic slot, Icefall Mantle is fantastic for sustain and offers a fresh twist. Of course, the usual options like Synthoceps, Wormgod’s Caress, or Heart of Inmost Light are also perfect fits.
5. An Insurmountable Skullfort + Thunderclap (Arc or Prismatic)

Thunderclap is a standout feature of Arc 3.0, particularly when paired with An Insurmountable Skullfort. This helmet restores melee energy on powered melee kills, synergizing perfectly with the strength of Thunderclap when melee stats are high.
In this setup, using Thunderclap along with Storm’s Keep is advantageous due to the utility of Bolt Charge. You can alternate with Knockout as well. Keep eliminating targets, and your melee energy will be restored. Even if you don’t secure a kill, you get some energy back for your efforts.
This build can also leverage Prismatic, maintaining access to Thunderclap, broadening your options. Although we recommend focusing on Arc due to the benefits of Bolt Charge.
6. Crest of Alpha Lupi + Bolt Charge (Arc)

The Crest of Alpha Lupi has emerged as an unexpectedly effective asset for Titans following recent adjustments. While it is viable for solo play, it excels in team scenarios.
This build allows you to heal yourself and allies when casting your barricade, providing support through damage dealt or kills from behind cover. Pairing it with Bolt Charge amplifies its effectiveness, creating a cohesive build that can carry you through challenging encounters.
