Not all units can be great, but it doesn’t mean you can’t play with Epic and Rare units, at least initially. Your goal is to get at least one Mythic, as you’ll fairly easily earn Legendaries thanks to the Legendary Pity system. Below is a list of best-ranked units for each tier in Anime Tower Defense.

S Tier

Ant King

Ant King has incredible damage, which you want to have in your team, no matter what mode you play. As this is a Secret unit, consider yourself lucky if you get him.

Cursed King

Cursed King is a Mythic unit that is the closest thing to a perfect offensive unit. He has full AoE combined with Bleeding, making him perfect against hard-to-kill enemies. As that’s not enough, his damage, range, and SPA (seconds-per-attack) are above average.

A Tier

Stretchy (Awk)

Stretchy (Awk) has incredible range but lacks damage. If your strategy is to cover the most ground possible, this unit will help you significantly.

Forest Keeper

Forest Keeper is a farm unit, and that’s all you need to know. While you don’t need money units for most of the Story mode stages, you need resources in Challenges and Infinity mode (if you want to go far and own expensive units).

B Tier

Swordmaster

Swordmaster is a solid all-round unit that will serve you well for some time. Unfortunately, you’ll quickly realize you need stronger units and that Swordmaster is simply not that guy.

Shadowbolt

Shadowbolt is one of my favorite mid-tier units as it combines fantastic range with AoE attack. He’s ranked this low mainly because of his atrocious SPA (more like minutes-per-attack) and lack of supreme damage.

C Tier

Annie

Annie is arguably the best Rare unit in the game. While that sounds like “best garbage in the bin,” it’s still a title! She’s a hybrid unit with solid damage and AoE attack, but she’s still just a Rare unit. You’ll forget she existed when you get a unit of Epic or a better rarity.

Electroslash

Electroclash is one of those units you’ll fall in love with immediately. Unfortunately, you’ll break up even faster as her full AoE and damage output will only get you so far. After you hit the wall (everywhere outside of Story mode), you’ll be forced to replace her with a better unit.
