Sword of Convallaria is a tactical RPG that feels very reminiscent of Final Fantasy Tactics. It’s also a gacha game, which means you’ll need to think about your party setup carefully. Our Sword of Convallaria tier list will help you decide which characters are worth investing in.
Sword of Convallaria Tier List
As always, our tier list for Sword of Convallaria is subject to change as the game gets new characters and balance updates that may shift the meta. It’s also worth pointing out that the PvE content in the game can be cleared even with the B or C-tier characters on this list.
If you’re a fan of min-maxing your party in these sorts of games, however, then yeah, you’ll want to aim for the S-tier characters. Without further ado, here’s our Sword of Convallaria tier list and character ranking. If you’re looking for solid Epic and Rare characters top help fill out your team while you work on getting Legendaries, we have a section at the bottom to help you pick out the good ones as well.

S-Tier
No big surprises here. Beryl, Gloria, Inanna, and Col are all the big reroll targets you should aim for if you’re planning on rerolling your account for a strong start. Beryl and Col are easily the strongest DPS characters in the game right now, with Beryl just edging her out slightly thanks to her being a Destroyer-type character, who has an advantage against all types except Watchers.
That being said, I should point out that Col is also a really strong rogue who can just wipe out the enemy team sneakily. Her kit allows her to act again if she’s able to kill an enemy unit from the side or rear, so you really want to stack her with attack and crit rate boosting gear.
Gloria and Innana, on the other hand, are the best support type characters in Sword of Convallaria. Gloria, in particular, can also double up as your hard carry DPS character if she’s your main reroll target. Her Flag buffs are great, she can knockback enemies, and she deals a crap ton of damage. No complaints from me.
If you want a proper, dedicated healer, then Innana is the one you want to go for. This unit will have a lot of longevity in the game, especially as you get to the tougher stages. She’s able to summon Guard of the Princess, which is basically a fodder tank you can control in battle. The Guard doesn’t do all that much damage, but he can tank hits for your party, and also help you fulfill battle objectives if necessary.
A-Tier
Dantalion and Magnus are both pretty decent on their own, but if you’re able to get them both in your party, then you’ve set yourself up for a very strong and scary synergistic duo. They get strong attack buffs together, allowing them to just barrel through a lot of the PvE stages. There aren’t a lot of good tanks in the game at the time of writing, so if you do manage to pull Magnus, you’ll definitely want him to replace Maitha as your main tank.
Dantalion, on the other hand, is a great DPS unit who just gets increasingly stronger as the battle wears on. His entire kit is revolved around giving him even more defensive and offensive buffs, so even if you find yourself in a situation where your entire team has been wiped out, chances are good that Dantalion may still be able to clean house.
Nonowill is also a great support character who can help with buffs and debuffs, while also being a very mobile attacker who can move across the field swiftly.
B-Tier
Maitha is one of the more versatile units in this tier, as she serves as a great tank, but she’s also able to deal decent damage and heal up as the battle drags on. She’s great as your party’s starter tank, but likely one that you’ll replace later on, especially if you manage to pick up Magnus.
Rawiyah is also another great early game unit if you happen to pull her. She’s primarily focused on DPS, she comes with AoE capabilities, and she can help get you through the early levels easily. She also has a bit of self-healing, which allows her to be somewhat self-sufficient in combat.
C-Tier
Finally, we get to the bottom of the barrel. Again, I want to emphasize that just because these characters are considered the worst of the Legendaries, that doesn’t mean they’re bad. They’re just not quite as efficient or versatile as the other characters in the higher tiers.
For instance, Teadon can be a fairly decent tank as well, especially with his high defense and ability to steel himself to take on enemy attacks on the frontlines. Most of the characters here will also serve as decent early game units, but again, you’ll likely replace them as you manage to pull better units.
Best Epic Characters to Invest In
Now of course, not everyone’s going to have the patience to reroll their account or be lucky enough to get all the S-Tier units in Sword of Convallaria. I should note that there are plenty of powerful Epic units that you can use as fillers in your party in the meantime as well, and in fact, some of them can even carry you all the way to the end.

First off, big shoutout to Crimson Falcon, who’s just been hard carrying my team up until when I finally got Col. The nice thing about Crimson Falcon is that she’s just a really solid rogue who’s capable of dealing big damage, while also having strong mobility. What makes her event better is the fact that the game loves giving you Memory Shards for her, and chances are good that she’ll be the first character you max out.
Tempest and Stormbreaker are also very solid picks if you just need a good DPS character on the frontlines, and you don’t have Gloria yet. You can also consider Darklight Ice Priest (who’s actually just a Rare character) and Abyss for your mage picks. The former is capable of dealing ranged ice damage, while also slowing down foes and creating ice tiles to debilitate the enemy even further.
For your tanking and healer needs, Suppression and Angel are the obvious picks. If you’re already all in on Maitha, you can probably give Suppression a past. But if you’re missing Inanna, then you’ll definitely want to get Angel and level her up. Her healing numbers are really good, and while she isn’t quite as versatile as Inanna in terms of buffs and support, she’ll get the job done and keep your team alive while you continue saving up for pulls.
