Find the explosive located at the top of the stairs and carry it over to the blocked entrance. Ensure you step back a bit to shoot the explosive with Yasuke’s bow or teppo. The entrance will be accessible after this action. If it doesn’t work on the first try, you can head back upstairs and attempt again with the second explosive.
How to Collect All Chests in Makino Kurumazuka Kofun
Your objective is to delve into the Kofun and uncover its riches, culminating in the Legendary Chest at the end. Below, we’ve laid out the locations of all the rewards waiting in the Makino Kurumazuka Kofun.
Chest Location #1
After using the staircase near the entrance, you’ll encounter a small chest at the bottom. This one is relatively easy to find, unlike the subsequent chests, which may be more elusive.
Chest Location #2
To find the second chest, look to the right of the first chest to spot a wooden structure. Move it aside to create a new pathway. If the darkness makes navigation tricky, light any candles along this path. Keep moving wooden structures to clear your route, and you’ll come across another rocky entrance. Use the explosives in the vicinity to demolish this blockage.
You will end up back at a previously visited location, but now you can use the second explosive to blast the blocked entrance above.
Pass through this new entryway and take a left at the crossroads to find a chest filled with resources at the end of the path.
Chest Location #3
Return to the crossroads and take a right now. As you wander down this path, you’ll eventually encounter a body of water. Dive down to find the chest located on the right side.
Chest Location #4
Swim across to the opposite side (near the third chest location) and proceed forward. Use one of Yasuke’s weapons to smash a set of wooden crates. Inside, you’ll find an explosive that you can throw across the rocky terrain ahead. Detonate it to clear another entryway.
You’ll arrive at another crossroads here: taking the right turn allows you to refill your items, while the left leads closer to another chest. Crouch when approaching the left turn and jump down. Although it seems like you can walk over the rope, it will snap if Yasuke attempts it. Instead, move the wooden structure to the right, and you’ll find the next chest hidden inside.
Legendary Chest Location
While at the fourth chest location, move the wooden structure to the pit area to access the elevated terrain (where the rope connects). Jump onto it to reach the next location.
In the following room, maneuver the wooden structure into the gap between two platforms on the left to create a makeshift staircase. Additionally, shift the other wooden structure beneath one of the platforms to uncover a hidden entrance; place this one in the proper slot for later use. Navigate through this secret area and follow the path down.
Move the two wooden structures in this new area and throw the explosives into the room with your makeshift staircase.
Use your abilities to carry and toss the explosive at the rocky area above.
