Below, we’ll explore all the secret areas you can find in Doom The Dark Ages, Chapter 5.

Doom The Dark Ages Chapter 5 Secret Areas

This chapter features a total of nine secret areas. Most of these can be found around the four Hell Carriers and within the city, all connected to your main objectives. However, three hidden spots—one featuring a Ruby Statue—are on optional landing sites. Let’s uncover these secret locations:

Secret Area 1

Upon landing on the first Hell Carrier, jump through the large hole created to exit into the city. Progress forward until you find a well leading underground. Once below, you’ll spot a group of enemies near a pentagram. Look behind them for health pickups and gold.

Secret Area 2

The second secret area requires a Blue Keycard to access. To obtain it, navigate to the cliff in the map’s western corner. The keycard is located near a corpse on the ground. Jump off the cliff to reach the hidden area easily.

Secret Area 3

This hidden location is found inside the third Hell Carrier. As you battle enemies in the ship, look for a breakable wall marked with a purple logo. Smash through it to uncover the area.

Secret Area 4

The fourth secret requires solving a mini-puzzle. After destroying the third Hell Carrier, land on the nearby platform. Proceed through the corridors and toward the primary objective until you see a wooden pathway on your right. Use your shield to break the red chain obstacle, then leap into the green box. Climb the box to access the walkways leading to the hidden area, where you’ll encounter another pentagram surrounded by enemies.

Secret Area 5

As you approach the fourth carrier, you’ll notice a Ruby behind a metal gate. Look to the opposite side of the gate to find a chandelier you can destroy with your shield, which will unlock the gate.

Secret Area 6

After retrieving the Ruby, continue ahead until you reach a bridge lit by torches. Move to the right corner and you will see another level below. Jump down and follow the wooden walkways until you find a caved-in wall leading back inside. You’ll be ambushed by a Mancubus upon entering. Defeat the demons in your way and head to the area where the Mancubus appeared. Climb the platforms to find the Serrat Collectible Toy at the top.

Secret Area 7

After defeating the titan with your Cyber Dragon’s help, land on a nearby secret platform. Continue moving and locate a metal gate that requires a red keycard. Dive into the water directly in front of the gate, swim down, and find an interactable valve. Turning this will unlock the underwater chamber with the red keycard. Retrieving it will allow you to unlock the gate and claim another Ruby.

Secret Area 8

The eighth secret area is also on the same landing site. Look for edges allowing you to jump to lower levels. Descend to the water level and look to the right for another caved-in wall. This leads to an undercroft where you’ll find a weapon skin waiting for you at the end.

Secret Area 9

To find the last secret area, take on a titan in the city with the aid of your Cyber Dragon. After defeating it, leap over the stone railings to the lowest level. Keep circling around until you locate a door leading to an underground space. Enter to uncover the final secret area.
