How to Get Happy Ghast in Minecraft

Happy ghasts are not roaming freely in Minecraft’s world. The journey begins with sourcing a dried ghast block, a new find in the Nether. We recommend gearing up appropriately before venturing into this challenging dimension. Here’s a step-by-step guide on obtaining a happy ghast in Minecraft:

1. Get a Dried Ghast Block

To spawn a happy ghast, you’ll first need a dried ghast block, found only in the soul sand valleys of the Nether, with a 33.3% chance of appearing near fossils. You can also craft or barter with Piglins for this essential block.

2. Waterlog the Dried Ghast

Once you have the dried ghast block, it’s time to waterlog it. Place the block on the ground and use a water bucket. Simply right-click on the block to soak it. This step is crucial for the next phase.

After surrounding the block with water, you’ll need to wait for approximately 20 minutes for it to transform.

3. Nurture the Ghastling

As time passes, the dried ghast block will change and develop a happy, adorable appearance, becoming a ghastling. This transformation takes another 20 minutes, but you can expedite the process by feeding the growing ghastling snowballs. If you’re impatient, simply feed it 64 snowballs to instantly turn it into a happy ghast.
