The newly added Expand Garden feature is perfect for seasoned players who have invested time collecting rare plants and are ready for more. When you restart Grow a Garden post-update, look for the Expand Garden sign on your plot’s fence. Here’s how to increase your garden’s size:

  1. Head to the center of the fence where the sign is located.
  2. A prompt will appear, showing the cost to expand that side—such as 100 million Sheckles for left and right expansions.
  3. Press and hold the E key on your keyboard to purchase the expansion.

It’s that straightforward! If you haven’t accumulated enough Sheckles yet, be sure to check our guide on making money quickly in Grow a Garden. Once you expand one side, you’ll unlock the option to expand the opposite side, followed by the back.

Grow a Garden Plot Expansion Options

Here’s a quick breakdown of the costs associated with expanding your plot in Grow a Garden:

Expansion Options Price (Sheckles) Cooldown Description
Left Side 250,000,000 Instantly available Increases plot width and boundary on the left side
Right Side 250,000,000 Instantly available Increases plot width and boundary on the right side
Back of the Garden
(Tier 1)
500,000,000 1 Day (or 199 Robux) Adds one plot and increases the back boundary
Back of the Garden
(Tier 2)
1,000,000,000 3 Days (or 399 Robux) Adds half a plot and increases back boundary

As noted, expanding your garden on the left or right side is initially available after logging in post-update. Once both sides are completed, you’ll see a timer on the back sign, indicating a wait period before you can expand there.

You can bypass this timer using Robux: the first skip costs 199 Robux, and the next costs 399 Robux. Keep in mind, though, you still need to pay the respective Sheckles to complete the expansion.

Should You Expand Your Plot Size in Grow a Garden?

In short, the answer is yes, you should consider expanding your plot in Grow a Garden. However, here are some conditions to think about:

  • Have you filled your current area with rare and profitable crops? Check out our Seed Shop guide for the best options.
  • Do you have enough Sheckles to proceed with the expansion?
  • Are you looking for space to place the new cosmetics introduced in the Cosmetic shop?

We recommend you expand your garden at least for the first three enhancements—two on each side and one at the back. This setup maximizes your space while being worth your investment.

While the final expansion at the back might set you back a whopping 2,000,000,000 Sheckles (2 billion Sheckles), the payoff is minimal—just half a plot. It’s often better to invest that amount in rare seeds instead.

However, if decor is your priority, feel free to proceed with expansion, but avoid using Robux for transactions. Have you tried out the new cosmetics in the game? Share your thoughts in the comments!
