Sam Bridges is back, and a massive connecting journey awaits him in the sequel, Death Stranding 2. While the main mode of traversal remains walking, players will unlock various modes of transport throughout their adventure. Many vehicles from the original game return, including the Trike. If you’re eager to ditch the walking and hop on a motorcycle, let me guide you through how to unlock your first vehicle in Death Stranding 2.
How to Unlock the Trike (Motorcycle) in Death Stranding 2
Your first vehicle is the Tri-Cruiser, also known as the Trike, which can be unlocked early on in Death Stranding 2. Responding to Fragile’s request, Sam needs to deliver cargo, starting with a mission to connect the Mexico region—this is where you’ll unlock the Tri-Cruiser motorcycle.
1. Complete Order 5 by Reaching the Former Geophysics Research Lab

In the 5th main order, your objective is to defeat nearby BTs (Beached Things) and deliver prototype bullets to Alex Weatherstone, a familiar face from the original game, at the Former Geophysics Research Lab.
This research lab is your final stop to connect to the Chiral network in Mexico. After delivering the goods, connect the lab to the network using your Q-Pid. You’ll then be asked to head to your private room for some much-needed rest, leading to a cutscene featuring Dead Man.
2. Defeat the Gigantic BT Outside the Former Geophysics Research Lab

While resting, Dead Man will appear in hologram form. Just as he shares vital information with Sam, a gigantic skull BT emerges outside the lab. Your conversation will end abruptly, signaling the start of your first boss fight. Ensure you have your essential equipment and weapon ready to defeat the massive BT boss.
3. Finish Your Conversation with Alex

After defeating the boss, return to the research lab and head back to your private room to finish your conversation with Dead Man peacefully.
Once completed, exit your private room and approach the delivery terminal to speak with Alex. He will inform you that you can now fabricate Tri-Cruisers, featuring dual front wheels.
4. Fabricate the Tri-Cruiser at the Garage
Following your chat with Alex, access the delivery terminal nearby. Select the Garage option. You need 220 metals, 160 ceramics, and 10 chemicals to fabricate the Tri-Cruiser.
If you have the necessary resources, click on Fabricate Vehicles to create the Tri-Cruiser. The newly fabricated bike will be ready for you as you exit the lab.
Things to Remember While Riding Tri-Cruisers
The remodeled trike, the Tri-Cruiser, consumes battery while in motion. Always carry a PCC with you to recharge when needed. You can only build generators within the Chiral Network or use generators set up by the online community to recharge your vehicle.

Traveling on constructed roads and within preppers’ locations does not drain battery. As you progress, you can unlock armors, extra battery units, and anti-gravity units for your vehicle. The Tri-Cruiser is among the best vehicles in Death Stranding 2 and can be fabricated once you finish Order 5.
