Before you dive into digging, select a shovel that matches your budget. Beginners should consider starting with the Training Shovel or Toy Shovel available at Rocky’s Shovel Shop in Fox Town. As you progress, aim for the Ruby Shovel and higher.
If you’re looking to save, remember that defeating Dig bosses can yield a free shovel. However, the drop is random, so you may have to defeat bosses multiple times. Sticking with the Ruby Shovel while targeting the free Candlelight Shovel from the Candlelight Phantom is a solid strategy.

Look for quests from the Pizza Penguin (4208, 1191, -4349) and Combat Guild (2509, 82, 1288). These quests are straightforward and can earn you between $500 and $2K (approximately €460) each time. It’s essentially free money, minus the fuel to make deliveries.
Quests also yield charms and buffs to enhance your digging experience. For instance, the Pizza Penguin quest can net you the powerful Pizza Roller Shovel and an Arcane Totem with every ninth delivery. Utilize the Arcane Totem wisely for a better shot at rare items.
Meanwhile, the Combat Guild quests up your boss damage with each completion. Stack those bonuses to take down bosses quicker, adding to your earnings.
3. Take Part in Boss Fights
Fighting bosses is one of the best strategies to rake in money. After defeating a boss, you’ll receive both cash and XP. Just remember to balance dealing damage while dodging their attacks.
