If you’ve had the pleasure of playing the first Grounded, you know the thrill of managing a collection of tools for hacking away at grass, digging up grubs, and fending off enemies. Thankfully, inventory management has taken a step up in Grounded 2 with the launch of the Omni-Tool.
The Omni-Tool is your all-in-one solution, merging an axe, hammer, shovel, and wrench into a single compact item. You can even enhance it, allowing you to tackle tougher materials as you progress in the game. Let’s take a closer look at how to unlock and upgrade your Omni-Tool in Grounded 2.
How to Unlock and Upgrade Your Omni-Tool in Grounded 2
Your journey with the Omni-Tool begins once you locate the Ranger Outpost: Snackbar during the main storyline. Inside this base, you will discover a Resource Analyzer alongside a wall filled with Omni-Tools, allowing you to select one to use throughout your adventure.

Inside this space, you will encounter a locked door on the opposite wall. You can’t access this door from the inside, obligating you to proceed a bit further in the main quest. Eventually, you’ll discover a cave that grants access to this area, making navigation more convenient.
Once you enter the room, you’ll discover a Ranger Station featuring a Science Shop, options for Omni-Tool upgrades, and Ranger Challenges. Initially, your upgrade options will be limited, but as you gather more resources, you’ll be able to expand your capabilities.
