If you’re diving into the captivating world of Grow a Garden, you’re going to love the revamped cooking mechanic! This feature isn’t just a passing phase; it’s here to elevate your gaming experience. Previously locked away with the Pig and Rat NPCs, cooking now plays a vital role in crafting essential food items. Let’s explore how to unlock the Cooking Kit and whip up delicious creations like burgers and corndogs!
With a wealth of experience under my belt in gaming mechanics, I can assure you that mastering this new feature will enrich your gameplay.
How to Unlock the Cooking Kit in Grow a Garden
The mischievous pig may have left, taking the cauldron and its recipes with him, but fear not! The cauldron has evolved into the Cooking Kit—a highly interactive cosmetic that you need to unlock to cook your favorite dishes.
To earn the Cooking Kit, you need to complete several achievements in Grow a Garden:
- Finish all the Common achievements
- Complete all the Rare achievements
- Achieve all the Mythical accomplishments
Starting with the Common achievements is your best bet. All you’ll need to do is plant, harvest, and shovel plants in your garden, which typically takes about 30 to 40 minutes of committed playtime.
Using the Cooking Kit in Grow a Garden
Once you’ve ticked off all the quests, simply hit the “Claim Reward” button to receive your Cooking Kit. It will automatically be added to your cosmetics inventory.
Next, find a clear spot in your garden plot and click the cosmetics inventory icon in the top left (it looks like a hammer and spanner). Locate your Cooking Kit and place it in your garden.

Your Cooking Kit is now ready to transform your plot in Grow a Garden! Even though it may be a bit buggy at launch, it remains a functional and transformative cosmetic item for preparing various dishes.
Similar to the earlier Cooking event, you can now hold fruits and approach the cauldron. It will allow you to input the fruits that appear as ingredients on the left, along with the cooking time and mutation percentage on the right.
Add your chosen fruits and click the green Cook button to begin. If you’re in a hurry, you can skip the cooking process for just 39 Robux. Sadly, the delightful spinning effect while seated in the cauldron has been removed. What a bummer!

The Cooking Kit is also crucial for creating the new Corndog item, necessary for crafting the Pet Pouch consumable. This item increases your pet inventory slots from 60 to 110, with each Pet Pouch adding just one slot.
By introducing this interactive cosmetic, Grow a Garden opens the door to new creative possibilities. The future updates hold the promise of even more exciting crafting recipes involving food items.
