The Elbaf arc in One Piece will be particularly significant as fans will get closer to uncovering the truth about the world’s history. The Straw Hat crew has just arrived on the island of the giants, and a new adventure awaits them.
However, Nico Robin is especially excited about coming to Elbaf for another reason. At long last, she can reunite with Jaguar D. Saul, the old friend who risked his life to save her during the Ohara Incident. Robin has spent 22 years believing he died at the hands of Aokiji. Recently, Shaka revealed Saul’s status during the Egghead arc and even told Robin that the giant is on Elbaf. The upcoming Chapter 1133 will finally feature their heartwarming reunion.
This chapter begins with several flashbacks about Robin’s past after the Ohara Incident, presented from various perspectives.
One flashback is from the perspective of Spandine, Spandam’s father and the leader of CP9 during the Ohara Incident 22 years ago. The flashback reveals that Robin once contemplated ending her life but ultimately did not go through with it.
These flashbacks also revive the horrors Robin endured throughout her life. As an orphan with a bounty of 79 million berries on her head, she lived in a state of constant fear and hardship during her childhood. Little Robin fled from place to place, facing danger wherever she went. One scene even depicts her eating scraps from a trash bin beside a dog. In Chapter 1133, the Straw Hat crew visits Saul’s home, where he is now a history professor on Elbaf.
Another flashback reveals that a massive explosion during the Ohara Incident melted the ice that Aokiji had used to freeze Saul. Although the giant survived, he was left with burns all over his body. As the chapter ends, Robin tearfully asks Saul, “Won’t you praise me for surviving this long?” The Straw Hat crew is also deeply moved by their reunion.
One Piece Chapter 1133 will be released on Sunday, December 8, 2024. There will be a break next week, with no new chapter. One Piece will return in the issue of Weekly Shonen Jump published on December 23.
