(G)I-DLE’s Jeon Soyeon Parts Ways with CUBE Amid Contract Dispute

According to Xports News’ investigation on October 25th, despite recent discussions regarding contract renewal with CUBE Entertainment, negotiations ultimately fell through. As a result, both Soyeon and CUBE will be going their separate ways.

Soyeon’s contract with CUBE is set to expire in November, a fact that had previously come to light when she modified lyrics during her solo performance at a concert in August, singing “Contract ends in November. Who’s going to stop me?”

At the time, CUBE initially claimed that “All members are up for contract renewal” and that “The lyrics were just part of the stage performance.” However, they later changed their stance, confirming that Soyeon’s contract indeed expires in November. Throughout this period, Soyeon openly expressed her dissatisfaction with CUBE, even publicly criticizing the company.

Following her decision to part ways with CUBE, Soyeon will now begin searching for a new agency. Since other (G)I-DLE members still have time remaining on their contracts with CUBE, questions are arising about the group’s future activities.

On another note, Soyeon’s contract timeline differs from other members because she initially debuted as a solo artist in November 2017, before (G)I-DLE’s group debut in May 2018.
