Han So-hee: “Heavy Snow” Director’s LGBTQ+ Elements Raise No Concerns

On October 11, at a press screening and press conference for the movie “Heavy Snow” held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, director Yoon Soo-ik shared that actress Han So-hee expressed concerns about her performance ahead of her film’s release. Attending the event were Han Hae-in and director Yoon, but Han So-hee was absent due to schedule conflicts.

Director Yoon said, “When I recently spoke with Han So-hee, rather than offering her encouragement, she expressed nervousness and concern about how audiences would react to her performance, as it was from her rookie days.”

He added, “I reassured her that her acting was really good and that there was no need to worry.”

When asked whether Han So-hee had any concerns about the LGBTQ+ elements in the film, Yoon responded, “She had no concerns about that aspect at all. From what I remember, we never really talked about that. Han So-hee was more focused on the tone of the film and her character, Seol.”

It was also revealed that Han So-hee was cast after seeing an Instagram image. Director Yoon said, “I was surprised when I first saw the image on Instagram. She had a sensual beauty, but at the same time, there was resistance in her eyes”, adding, “It’s not easy to look good together, but that was so appealing. I made a casting offer right away without an audition.”

Meanwhile, Han So-hee’s partner in “Heavy Snow”, Han Hae-in, praised the former’s performance, stating, “When we first met, we had a time to rehearse and exchange lines, and when we exchanged lines face to face, Han So-hee’s eyes and emotions really touched my heart, and I shed tears. It left a deep impression on me.”

Meanwhile, “Heavy Snow” tells the winter love story of Seol (played by Han So-hee), a high-teen star, and Su-an (played by Han Hae-in), an aspiring actress, as they reconnect after missing their chance at being honest with each other in the past.
