On the 24th episode of the TV program “Dolsing Fourmen”, Hwasa made a guest appearance and delighted viewers with her sharp and humorous comments.
The conversation turned to Hwasa’s iconic MAMA awards performance, which earned her the nickname “Queen Hwasa.” Lee Sang-min recalled the memorable stage where Hwasa captivated audiences in a form-fitting, bright red bodysuit.
When asked if she anticipated the performance’s success, Hwasa modestly replied, “I didn’t think much of it. I just wanted to give a powerful and cool performance. As soon as I stepped off stage, my phone was flooded with calls.”
After watching a clip of the performance, the host Tak Jae-hoon remarked, “She doesn’t look Korean. She has an international look. On screen, she appears larger, but in person, she’s quite slim and delicate.”
Hwasa agreed, adding, “People are often surprised when they meet me in person. They expect me to be really curvy and tall, but they find me petite. Older people especially comment that they thought I had a much larger backside.”
Kim Jun-ho observed, “Hwasa exudes a unique confidence that’s rare. You can see it in her face. On stage, she has this look that seems almost haughty. Don’t her eyebrows arch a bit?”
Meanwhile, Tak Jae-hoon concurred, “I don’t get that impression off-stage. It’s quite intimidating. I hardly recognize her as Hwasa.”
Hwasa then confessed, “When I’m on stage, I barely remember anything. I’m completely immersed in the performance. If I’m not fully engaged and find it difficult to perform, I feel incredibly embarrassed.”
Finally, the female idol revealed an unusual measure of her performance satisfaction: whether she bleeds or not.
“The female dancers I perform with are the same. After a show, there’s often blood on our knees,” she explained, adding, “I refuse to wear knee pads. On stage, I don’t even feel the pain when my knees are injured – I just perform with joy”.
