On the afternoon of Sep 25th, the press conference for KBS2’s new weekend drama “Iron Family” was held at The Saint Wedding in D-Cube City, Sindorim, Guro-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by director Seong Jun-hae and actors Kim Jung-hyun, Keum Sae-rok, Park Ji-young, Shin Hyun-joon, Kim Hye-eun, Choi Tae-joon and Yang Hye-ji.
“Iron Family” tells the story of the “clean laundry” family of Da-rim (played by Keum Sae-rok) and her husband ironing money instead of clothes.
Choi Tae-joon plays Cha Tae-woong, a part-time worker at the Clean Laundry. Notably, his wife Park Shin-hye, whom he married in 2024, is also currently starring in SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama “The Judge from Hell”, which premiered on Sep 21st.
When asked about appearing in dramas at the same time, Choi Tae-joon said, “I’ve never had to answer a question like this in such a setting, so I’m a bit nervous. We haven’t discussed it much, but we’re both very supportive of each other and encouraging one another to do our best.“
He also mentioned the efforts he made for “Iron Family”, including losing weight, “It was something I needed to prepare for, and as you can see in the highlight scenes, there’s a scene where Da-rim and I wash each other’s back. I thought Da-rim should feel at least a little fluttered, so I worked out hard. I’m curious to see how it turns out.“
Director Seong Jun-hae added “As far as I know, the two dramas are not airing at the same time slot. I hope both are huge hits and bring blessings to their family“, eliciting laughter from the audience.
Meanwhile, “Iron Family” is set to premiere on Sep 28th at 8 PM.
