According to an exclusive report by SPOTV News on the 23rd, Park Yoochun will release a new album in Japan on December 18.
On the 20th, Park held a press conference in Tokyo regarding the release of his “Japan Debut Mini Album” and his upcoming Christmas tour, where he shared his determination for his new activities.
Although Park Yoochun has performed in Japan through dinner shows and other events, this marks the first time he is officially releasing a solo album. During the press conference, he expressed his gratitude, saying, “I feel thankful for the kindness and continued support from Japanese fans who have been waiting for me.”
He added, “I know that many of you have been waiting, so I want to show both the familiar side you remember and a new side of me.”
The new album, set to release on December 18, will include both original Japanese songs and Japanese-translated tracks. Additionally, on December 21, 23, and 24, he will hold the “Park Yoochun 2024 Christmas Tour” in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka.
Meanwhile, Park’s former JYJ bandmates Kim Jaejoong and Kim Junsu, who debuted together, have formed a new group called JX to celebrate their 20th anniversary. They will hold a joint concert in November at Seoul’s Olympic Park KSPO Dome (formerly known as the Gymnastics Arena). With his domestic activities hindered due to scandals, Park Yoochun is drawing attention as he seeks to continue his solo career in Japan.
Park Yoochun has faced public outrage due to his involvement in illegal activities, including methamphetamine use and tax evasion. In 2019, he was arrested on charges of methamphetamine use and sentenced to 10 months in prison with a two-year probation. At the time, Park denied the drug allegations, stating, “If it turns out to be true, I will retire from the entertainment industry.” However, the allegations were later confirmed to be true.
After being released on probation, Park has been effectively ousted from the domestic entertainment industry. Despite his earlier declaration that he would retire if the drug allegations were true, he has continued his activities, holding concerts and paid fan meetings in countries like Thailand and Japan.
