Shin Se-kyung was cast as the new lead of “Humint” (directed by Ryoo Seung-wan, produced by Outlaw Pictures), replacing Nana, who recently stepped down due to scheduling conflicts. She will portray Chae Sun-hwa, a North Korean restaurant worker, and will showcase top-tier chemistry with Jo In-sung, who plays a National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent, and Park Jung-min, who takes on the role of a North Korean Ministry of State Security officer, Park Geon.
Shin Se-kyung’s last big-screen appearance was in “Tazza: The Hidden Card” (directed by Kang Hyeong-cheol), which was released in September 2014. Since then, aside from her appearance in the 2024 documentary “Another Record” (directed by Kim Jong-kwan), she has focused primarily on television dramas, starring in notable projects such as “Six Flying Dragons”, “The Bride of Habaek”, “Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung”, “Run On”, “Arthdal Chronicles”, and “Captivating the King”.
With her return to film after a decade, Shin Se-kyung’s decision to join “Humint” promises an exciting reunion with moviegoers. Directed by veteran filmmaker Ryoo Seung-wan and featuring the “queen” Shin Se-kyung, “Humint” is expected to be one of next year’s major box-office hits.
“Humint” is a spy action film centered around North and South Korean secret agents who clash while investigating crimes along the Vladivostok border. The film stars Jo In-sung, Park Jung-min, Park Hae-joon, and Shin Se-kyung, and is directed by Ryoo Seung-wan, known for the “Veteran” series and “Smugglers”. Filming is set to begin in the second half of this year.
