On Oct 10th, the production team of “The Fiery Priest 2” revealed the teaser poster, raising anticipation to the max. The sequel, returning after five years, follows the story of the righteous priest Kim Hae-il as he pursues a drug-related case.
The poster, featuring the lead characters from Season 1—Kim Nam-gil (as Kim Hae-il), Honey Lee (as Park Kyung-sun) and Kim Sung-kyun (as Goo Dae-young), leaves a strong impression. In the poster, Father Kim Hae-il is seen standing with his priest robes fluttering, while prosecutor Park Kyung-sun and detective Goo Dae-young deliver intense stares.
Kim Hae-il holds a rosary, exuding a warrior-like aura. As “Bellato”, a special fiery priest chosen by the Pope, he is armed with the authority to bring justice and confront the forces of evil. Park Kyung-sun, holding a sword and surveying her surroundings, exudes an aura of duality. She is set to join Kim Hae-il as his ally, “Gomez”. Goo Dae-young also returns as “Gomez”, assisting Kim Hae-il. With a sharp look and gun in hand, his presence brings back memories of the unique bromance with Kim Hae-il in the previous season, further heightening expectations.
The poster’s tagline “Bellato’s mission begins” also stands out, hinting at a more powerful execution of justice as the setting moves from Gudam District (Season 1) to Busan.
The production team shared, “Kim Hae-il receives a new mission as ‘Bellato’. The challenge of dismantling the evil cartel alongside his reliable Gomezes will unfold. Kim Nam-gil, Honey Lee and Kim Sung-kyun show seamless chemistry, as if the five-year gap never existed. Season 1 broke through with a peak viewership rating of over 24%, solidifying its status as a mega-hit. In this season, writer Park Jae-beom, director Park Bo-ram along with Kim Nam-gil, Honey Lee and Kim Sung-kyun have reunited, promising a refreshing and exciting drama once again.
“The Fiery Priest 2” is set to air its first episode next month on Nov 8th at 10 PM, following “The Judge from Hell”.
