New LGBT Drama “Love in the Big City” Stuns Viewers with Raw Intensity

A new 19+ LGBTQIA+ K-Drama, “Love in the Big City”, starring Jin Ho-eun (All of Us Are Dead) and Nam Yoon-su (Extracurricular), has grabbed attention for its intense scenes.

The drama, an adaptation of a novel, tells the story of Go-young (Nam Yoon-su), a gay man living with his straight female roommate, Mi-ae (Lee Soo-kyung). As the story unfolds, Go Young faces personal struggles, including tension with his mother, who refuses to accept his sexuality, and the heartbreak of ending his relationship with his lover Gyu-ho (Jin Ho-eun) due to societal pressures.

The drama doesn’t shy away from challenging topics, and after a breakup, Go-young embarks on a trip to Thailand, where he begins to rediscover himself. However, the show has sparked controversy and faced backlash, including homophobic criticism, but it still made it to release.

One particular scene in episode 4 has gone viral for its steamy intensity. In this scene, Go-young and his second love, Young-soo, reconcile after an argument, which turns into a heated and passionate moment. Although the scene does not depict explicit content beyond leading to a bedroom, it has shocked viewers due to its raw and emotional portrayal of a homosexual relationship, a rarity in K-dramas.
