The global hit series “Squid Game” is returning with a new season. On Sep 19th, Netflix revealed the poster for “Squid Game” Season 2 through its official SNS, capturing the attention of fans.
The poster, featuring the message “It’s almost time to rejoin the game“, shows a contestant in a green tracksuit, bleeding while being dragged by a staff member in a pink jumpsuit. After seeing the image, netizens speculated that “‘Squid Game’ Season 2 may be set in a sports day or physical training event”, heightening anticipation.
Along with the poster, Netflix also released a special video on the same day, where the cast of “Squid Game” Season 2 responded to fans’ predictions.
In the video, lead actors Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun and Wi Ha-joon discussed various fan theories. When one fan speculated “Lee Byung-hun will wear an animal mask and appear as a VIP in Season 2. Seong Gi-hun will be appointed as the Front Man“, Lee Byung-hun smiled and responded, “This theory is very imaginative, but it is far from the actual story.”
Lee Byung-hun added “You’ll see many new games in Season 2, and once again, they’re traditional Korean games“, sparking even more curiosity. Lee Jung-jae also expressed his confidence, “It will be even more fun than fans can imagine.”
In “Squid Game” Season 2, familiar faces such as Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun and Wi Ha-joon will return, while new cast members, including Kang Ha-neul, Im Si-wan, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-wook and Yang Dong-geun, will join.
Lee Byung-hun is set to reprise his impactful role as the Front Man, showcasing a powerful presence once again. “Squid Game” Season 2 is set to be released on Dec 26th.
Moreover, it has been confirmed that the “Squid Game” series will not conclude with Season 2, as a final season is already in production and is scheduled for release next year.
