So, what are we all watching this week?
What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in…

Love Next Door: WOW that was a lot of crying, and most of it more exhausting than cathartic. Funny how the emotions were a big part of what roped me in initially, but now I feel like I’m just trudging through them and hoping they’ll let up soon. There’s just a lot of shouting and blaming and speaking for each other, and not nearly enough listening to try and understand how each other feels. And then when we finally get a few moments of levity, it feels jarring and out of place (except the spoons on the eyes thing — for whatever reason, that actually had me cackling). The most egregious example being one of my favorite emotional moments of the week — Dan-ho and Mo-eum’s heart-to-heart leading up to the kiss — that was then totally undercut by her smacking him in the face for no reason. Head-butting aside, though, Mo-eum is my favorite character, and my other favorite moment this week was her hugging Seok-ryu instead of yelling at her like everyone else did. I understand the point the show was making, but I think it could have made that point in a much better way.

Cinderella at 2AM: It’s a nice change to see a trope that’s been trotted out a million times with a new spin. A chaebol heir and a normal, down-to-earth female lead — you know you’ve seen this one. The hero seems naive yet sweet, and the heroine is mature, flawed, and likable. Looking forward to see where this show goes.
