Hellbound Season 2: Chaos Unfolds in Power Struggle

In “Hellbound” Season 2, the world becomes even more chaotic as the notices of people’s condemnation to hell continue, and a new story unfolds involving the sudden resurrection of Chairman Jung Jinsu of the New Truth Society and Park Jungja. The lawyer Min Hyejin from Sodo, the New Truth, and the Arrowhead faction become entangled in a fresh conflict.

The newly revealed character posters feature those experiencing the world overrun by hell, the resurrected individuals, and the Hellbound messengers who remain with them, heightening curiosity. First, the poster for the returning Min Hyejin (played by Kim Hyun-joo) captures attention with her eyes full of unyielding conviction for justice. In this chaotic world where indiscriminate notices and demonstrations continue, Min Hyejin leads the Sodo organization in fighting against the New Truth while searching for the resurrected individuals.

Jung Jinsu (played by Kim Sung-cheol), the founding chairman of the New Truth who secretly received a hellbound demonstration but has now suddenly resurrected, appears on his poster with the line, “I am the one who has seen the truth.” This raises anticipation for the ripple effects his resurrection will cause, as he had spread false beliefs before.

Meanwhile, Park Jungja (played by Kim Shin-rok), who was sent to hell in front of the entire nation during a live broadcast in Season 1, returns after four years. Her comeback is expected to spark curiosity as she is compared to the resurrected Jung Jinsu, and viewers wonder what path she will take.

In addition, new characters join the returning cast, including Cheon Sehyeong (played by Im Sung-jae), a mysterious figure who witnessed Jung Jinsu’s resurrection and cares for him; Lee Sookyung (played by Moon So-ri), the senior presidential secretary who supports the New Truth and tries to establish a new doctrine using the resurrected Park Jungja; and Ms. Sunshine (played by Moon Geun-young), a key propagandist of the Arrowhead, who catches the eye with her striking appearance. These new characters, along with the original cast, hint at a deepened world centered around the resurrected in Season 2 of “Hellbound,” raising expectations.

The teaser trailer shows a world in chaos from the continued hellbound notices and demonstrations. The reappearance of the resurrected Jung Jinsu and Park Jungja marks a turning point. As the New Truth loses power due to the disappearance of its founder and the survival of the condemned baby, the Arrowhead seizes the opportunity to grow its influence through propaganda. Amid this growing anarchy, the government turns its attention to the resurrected Park Jungja. Presidential secretary Lee Sookyung approaches the New Truth to establish a new order.

“Hellbound” Season 2 will be released on Netflix on October 25.
