On March 11th, the press conference for Genie TV’s original series “The Midnight Studio” was held at a hotel in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Director Song Hyun-wook, Joo Won, Kwon Na-ra, Yoo In-soo, and Eum Moon-seok attended the event.
“The Midnight Studio” is a drama about mysterious and strange stories about life and death of the night guests of a photo studio that exists only for the deceased centering on the pricky photographer who runs the photo studio and a hard-working lawyer. The drama drew attention as the new project by “Beauty Inside“ and “The King’s Affection” director Song Hyun-wook.
At the press conference, director Song said, “The drama begins with Seo Ji-joo (Joo Won)’s line ‘If you could capture your last memory in a photo, what would it be?’. This drama contains various genres, including comedy, fantasy, action, healing and emotional”. The male lead Joo Won also expressed his feelings, saying “I hope our warm hearts and teamwork reach viewers so that they can find healing moments and enjoy many lovely emotions”
“The Midnight Studio” will air on Genie TV, Genie TV Mobile and ENA. Actor Eum Moon-seok said, “‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ is currently the drama with the highest rating on ENA. I hope the rating of our drama can break that record”. Regarding his promise if the drama achieves the goal, he said, “I want to take a picture and play badminton at Olympic Park. How about making a plan to play sports and enjoy a fun day?”.
Yoo In-soo added, “Personally, I hope the rating will be over 10 percent. I’ll invite some viewers to take pictures if it’s more than 10%.” Kwon Na-ra chose 12% as her target rating, saying “I’ve done a food truck event before, and I think it would be very nice to invite some people over to cook for them and take pictures”.
Lastly, Joo Won said, “I’ll go with my big dream of 20%. First of all, I want to suggest making Season 2. We are all not ready to say goodbye to this drama and our chemistry is also very good. Meeting a team like this, I thought it would be so good to work with them again at least once”, adding “I’ll think about what I can directly do to viewers and fans as a promise”.
“The Midnight Studio” will premiere at 10 p.m. on March 11th.
