On Feb 20th, through his agency Around Us Entertainment, Lee Gi-kwang revealed his thoughts and answered questions ahead of the end of tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama “Marry My Husband“.
In “Marry My Husband”, Lee Gi-kwang played the role of Baek Eun-ho, who is Kang Ji-won’s (Park Min-young) first love and reliable supporter. Lee Gi-kwang depicted Baek Eun-ho’s kind yet resolute personality, as well as his reunion with first love Kang Ji-won and his new relationship with Yoo Hee-yeon (Choi Gyu-ri).
Regarding this, Lee Gi-kwang said, “I was happy to portray Eun-ho. This drama holds special meaning for me. I sincerely thank everyone who loved Eun-ho.”
Lee Gi-kwang is expected to make a comeback this spring through his group Highlight.
Below is Lee Gi-kwang’s interview about “Marry My Husband”
– You garnered attention for portraying high school scenes wearing a school uniform. Aside from that, from the first love reunion to the “push and pull” with a new character, Baek Eun-ho had various memorable scenes and lines. Do you have any scenes or lines that are particularly memorable?
I remember the scene where Eun-ho first appears vividly. When Yoo Ji-hyuk asked Eun-ho if he had time, he said “I have a girlfriend” while showing his ring. When I first filmed it, I didn’t know because I was so focused on acting, but it was so fun to see it come up in shorts. Although there were few encounters between the two characters, it left a strong impression on me.
– Please introduce your chemistry with actors Park Min-young (Kang Ji-won), Na In-woo (Yoo Ji-hyuk) and Choi Gyu-ri (Yoo Hee-yeon).
Min-young has a very good personality and treated me warmly from the beginning, so it was very comfortable to act with her. I’m a bit shy, but she approached me first and talked to me warmly, so I quickly enjoyed filming.
In-woo is a really nice and good friend. I knew In-woo from before, so I was very happy and glad to meet him in a drama. It’s a shame that there were almost no scenes together as the drama progressed.
I met Gyu-ri for the first time through this drama, and her bright and cheerful personality made acting together enjoyable. Since her character eventually meets Eun-ho as a good fate, I think I developed more affection for her.
