Drama Highlights: Live Your Own Life Episodes 30-31 Review

After learning what Sook-hyang did to Halmeoni, Tae-ho decides to actively participate in management at Taesan Group. His first step: mess with Sook-hyang’s succession plans by opposing Tae-min’s promotion to vice chairman at the board meeting. His second step: find the evidence of her embezzlement. Unfortunately, this will take a while because the director who has the evidence is living in hiding abroad. But Sook-hyang is not just sitting on her hands. She plants a mole in Tae-ho’s scholarship fund team, and she instructs Mr. Yeom to look into Tae-ho’s personal life to find a weakness.

As for Hyo-shim, her mom emotionally blackmails Hyo-sung into giving her Hyo-shim’s address, and Mom gets all dramatic when she sees Tae-ho at Hyo-shim’s. Mom refuses to approve their relationship, and Hyo-sung is of a similar opinion. But while Mom puts her foot down for selfish reasons, Hyo-sung is worried that his sister will be dragged into the messy chaebol drama of the Kang family. But even if his family is a mess, at least Tae-ho loves Hyo-shim — a sentiment Soo-kyung cannot relate with. Tae-min treats Soo-kyung like an invisible roommate, and her attempts to “help” him out with work-related matters doesn’t make their relationship any better, because Tae-min is not a fan of her despicable methods.

Hyo-joon doesn’t realize it yet, but he’s beginning to fall for Mi-rim. Maybe he’ll finally clock his feelings after the drunken kiss she planted on him. Meanwhile, our maknae couple have gone ahead to register their marriage much to Sook-hyang’s shock, and Mr. Yeom’s ire. Hmmm. To wrap up the week, Tae-ho comes over for a formal meet-the-parents with Hyo-shim’s mom, and the landlady drags Halmeoni to take a look at Hyo-shim’s boyfriend. From afar off, Halmeoni is shocked to see that her grandson, Tae-ho, is the boyfriend in question, and this is the second biggest plot progress we have made after Hyo-shim’s move. Ohlala!
