The second half of the drama kicks off with big decisions and crazy proposals. It’s also the start of Hyo-shim’s independent life as she’s moving out! As expected, her mom has a meltdown and kicks against it. Selfish Hyo-joon and childish Hyo-do are also anti moving out, but Hyo-sung is in full support of Hyo-shim’s decision, and he calls the family to order. There must be something in the air at Hyo-sung’s house because rude Ru-bi also tears her grandmother a new one by calling her a selfish mother who gaslights her children. Lol. Also in the spirit of big decisions, Mr. Park finally agrees to let Ga-on pursue a singing career as long as she is not exploited by the industry, and it doesn’t affect her education.
The Kang cousins hand out proposals like Halloween candy starting with Tae-ho’s teasing proposal to Hyo-shim, and advancing with Tae-hee’s proposal and mock wedding to Hyo-do. Unfortunately, our maknae couple doesn’t get to register their marriage because Sook-hyang has Tae-hee kidnapped and brought back home. The mother of all crazy proposals comes from Tae-min to Soo-kyung: “You may be my wife, but you’ll never get to have me.” But Soo-kyung is willing to go ahead regardless, and the marriage of convenience between Taesan Group and TV Live becomes official. I may not be his biggest fan, but I felt a twinge of sympathy for Tae-min as he sat alone in the dressing room looking as dejected as a sheep at the slaughterhouse.
The more Tae-min digs into Tae-ho’s parents’ accident, the guiltier his father appears. Chairman Kang swears on his life that he’s innocent, and with her reaction to her guilt-ridden husband, everything points to Sook-hyang as the mastermind. Maybe the truth about the accident will come to light now that Tae-ho is in the know about TV Live’s investigation into the case. Although with Soo-kyung’s marriage into the Kang household, I wonder if the investigation will continue after all.
