Vigilante Justice Carried Out by Ex-Con Ajummas in Cast Away

Don’t you just hate it when you’re short a few million dollars to produce a drama with your dream team of actors, writers, and directors? *pouts* Well, we found a way to scratch that itch!

Introducing the new Dramabeans community series Cast Away — where Beanies can advocate for their chosen actors and creatives in imaginary roles.

How it works: Each week, we’ll share a hypothetical K-drama plot with you. In the comments, discuss who you think is the perfect cast to play the roles in this imaginary show.

You can also go wild and introduce more characters, rename the show, pick your favorite director, etc. Who knows? Maybe our collective wishing will manifest fantasy casting into reality.

This week’s K-drama plot: A group of ex-convict ajummas carrying out vigilante justice

Five women serving time for various crimes of passion form a lifelong bond in prison. Upon their release, the now ajummas and grannies blend back into society. Unobserved and mostly ignored, they investigate domestic crimes and carry out vigilante justice to avenge the weak. Meanwhile, a young detective discovers a pattern in their movements and is determined to unmask this mysterious group working outside the law.

This could be a straight up thriller or a wacky comedy depending on who’s your pick for the five ex-convicts. What kind of justice do you wish they’d carry out? Punishing the baddies with kimchi slaps, or a more gruesome “cook you up and feed you to zoo animals” kind of thing?

Feel free to request a plot line for future Cast Away posts. We’ll do our best (beep-boop!) to serve a fun twist on it.
