Team Dramabeans: What We’re Watching (September 23, 2024) – Dramaddictally’s Recap

So, what are we all watching this week?

What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in…

Destined With You: To see how I feel about this drama, just read what @dramaddictally wrote below. It’s just everything I want from a K-drama right now, and the hodge-podge plot is my jam.

My Lovely Boxer: With only one episode this week it was a bit hard to keep the momentum going, and it’s made me realize that a) I really love our two leads working together, not apart and b) I might just wait and watch the last three episodes together. This is a narrative that’s great to sink into, with characters I don’t want to let go of, so I’ll need to do it all at once or not at all. (Aside: Jae-min, please leave the plot, stat. I loathe you.)

My Lovely Liar: Is it really over? *Cries in denial* More than the story itself, I absolutely loved the DoSol couple, and those cuties are my fav OTP this year. I didn’t have any expectations in the beginning, but boy, they made me feel things. Their interactions were just so natural and relaxing, and while they didn’t have over the top skinship scenes, the simple ones like her sleeping on his lap and him casually stroking her head had me curling my toes in glee. The way I totally folded when they began to call each other “Oppa” and “Sol-hee-a” was unreal, and I really, really loved the proposal — even though I wasn’t expecting it. Did I mention how much I loved that Do-ha struggled with cooking? All I could think of whenever he was in the kitchen was, “Finally, a male lead who is not a cooking expert!” Lol. I didn’t like her parents getting back together, but that doesn’t take anything away from the show for me. It was a big source of comfort for me throughout its run, and I’m going to miss seeing Hwang Min-hyun and Kim So-hyun on my screen.

Destined With You: I clearly met this drama in a past life. There’s no other way to explain my undying adoration for it. The heroine is so charming, I’d follow her story anywhere, and I’ve long been under the spell of our hero. (See? Spells do work.) Sorry SF9, but we’ll take him!

My Lovely Boxer: Oops, how did I not realize this is only a 12-episode drama? Here I thought we were only about halfway through our story, but the truth is we’re almost done! On one hand, good — less chance of anything veering off course. On the other, no! How am I going to say goodbye to these characters? Our female lead is proving to be one of the greats.
