Team Dramabeans: Our Watchlist – January 28, 2024

So, what are we all watching this week?

What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in…

Payback: Episode 7 was a little dull for me, but the drama is still managing to hit all these really great mic drop moments each episode, and they never get old. Also, there’s Park Hoon to stare at, and whenever he and Lee Seon-kyun have a scene together I realize how much more of this dynamic I want to see! I also really loved the reunion hug of Yong and Jun-kyung. She might be a stone wall of a character, but at least I believe how much Yong cares about her.

Bros on Foot: I didn’t know how much I missed variety/needed to laugh/wanted to marry Joo Ji-hoon until I tuned into Bros on Foot (a.k.a. Ticketing on Two Feet). As always, it’s the banter and goofiness that get me when it comes to variety, so whether these guys are biking or trekking or grocery shopping or waking up in the morning and glugging some water down, it’s such a good time, and such a fun, pure watch.

Strangers Again: Gah, I love this show. The writing is so good and this week took such an honest look at marriage, I was blown away. I forgot how much I love Kang So-ra (which, I don’t know how I could — I sat all the way through Revolutionary Love for this woman) but her acting always feels so genuine. She and Jang Seung-jo together have totally captivated me. But, now that we have the big secret out of the bag so early, I’m a little nervous about what direction the show will take and if it can keep up its emotional authenticity, or if one or both leads will have a change of personality that feels forced.
